Position Summary:
The Senior IT Field Service Engineer is a hands-on, customer-facing technical professional responsible for delivering onsite IT support, infrastructure services, and advanced troubleshooting for commercial clients. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer with Managed Service Provider (MSP) experience who thrives in dynamic environments, supports multiple client sites, and serves as a trusted technical resource. This position features a combination of remote work and local Dc Metro area travel.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced onsite and remote technical support for commercial clients across multiple locations
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, workstations, network devices, and peripherals
- Support Microsoft environments including Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, and Azure AD
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, switches, wireless)
- Perform system upgrades, migrations, patching, and hardware refresh projects
- Serve as an escalation point for Tier II/III issues and mentor junior field engineers
- Document configurations, procedures, and resolutions in ticketing and documentation systems
- Work closely with internal service desk, project teams, and account managers to ensure SLA compliance
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer satisfaction during onsite engagements
- Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours support as needed
$90,000 - $120,000 a year
