The Role

The Accountant Level 3 will be responsible for the comprehensive and accurate financial record-keeping, reporting, and compliance for the US entity, primarily adhering to US accounting standards. This role requires an independent, detail-oriented professional with a strong grasp of US GAAP and related tax principles, ensuring the smooth and compliant financial operation of the US business from the Philippines.

What You’ll Do:

  • General Ledger & Reporting
    • Manage the full accounting cycle (Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report) for the US entity.
    • Execute and handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings (soft close and hard close) in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Prepare and post complex journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
    • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all major accounts with minimal supervision.
    • Prepare and publish financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow) on schedule for US management review, ensuring compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
  • Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR)
    • Oversight Oversee and manage complex AP functions, including multi-currency invoice processing, vendor management, and payment runs.
    • Manage AR functions, including billing/invoicing, collections, and application of customer payments.
    • Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Process Improvement & Ad-Hoc Analysis
    • Proactively identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
    • Prepare and analyze financial data, including variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget), to provide insights to US leadership.
    • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities as requested.
    • Handle sensitive financial information with strict confidentiality.

What We Expect From You:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of progressive professional experience in general accounting, with a significant portion dedicated to a US-based entity or a BPO/Shared Services environment serving US clients.
  • Solid working knowledge of US GAAP is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in accounting software/ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks Online/Desktop, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Xero) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex financial matters to US counterparts.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
  • Willingness and ability to work a night shift schedule to align with US business hours.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Philippine Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
    • Experience with multi-state and/or international accounting/tax principles.
