Bring your curious mind and ambition to shape our industry and help us become the progressive, digitally enabled, leading insurer we aim to be.

Job Description

At TAL, we believe that strong leadership and clarity in responsibilities are essential to our success. As the Accountability Manager, you’ll play a key part in ensuring our Accountability Framework is embedded across the business. You’ll work closely with senior leaders to help them meet their obligations, providing expert advice and oversight to drive best practices and compliance.

Your role will see you reviewing and enhancing the systems our Accountable Persons use to align with the Financial Accountability Regime. You’ll manage important processes including the registration and de-registration of Accountable Persons, and keep our Accountability Statements and Map up to date. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact on our governance and culture, while working with talented colleagues in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.

In this role you will:

  • Oversee and maintain the Accountability Framework, ensuring all related policies, procedures, templates, training materials, and resources are current and effective.
  • Review Accountable Persons’ frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations.
  • Facilitate ongoing scenario testing to validate accountabilities within the business.
  • Manage Financial Accountability Regime (FAR) notifications, including the registration and de-registration of Accountable Persons, and ensure Accountability Statements and the Accountability Map are accurately updated.
  • Provide clear, practical advice and guidance to Accountable Persons and their teams regarding the FAR and Accountability Framework.
  • Support the delivery of training programs for Accountable Persons and senior stakeholders to promote understanding and compliance.

Qualifications

  • At least five years’ experience in governance or compliance roles, preferably within the financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory obligations for life insurance and broader corporate governance, with the ability to provide practical, actionable advice.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, with the capability to influence and engage a wide range of audiences.
  • Exceptional organisational abilities, with a demonstrated track record of meeting tight and competing deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously.
  • Keen attention to detail.
