About Waymark

Waymark is a mission-driven team of healthcare providers, technologists, and builders working to transform care for people with Medicaid benefits. We partner with communities to deliver technology-enabled, human-centered support that helps patients stay healthy and thrive. We’re designing tools and systems that bring care directly to those who need it most—removing barriers and reimagining what’s possible in Medicaid healthcare delivery.

Our Values

At Waymark, our values are the foundation of how we work, grow, and support one another:

  • Bold Builders: We tackle the toughest challenges in care delivery by harnessing the power of community and technology.
  • Humble Learners: We seek feedback, embrace diverse perspectives, and welcome challenges to our assumptions.
  • Experiment to Improve: We use data to inform decisions and continuously assess our performance.
  • Focused Urgency: Our mission drives us to act swiftly and relentlessly in pursuit of meaningful results.

If this resonates with you, we invite you to bring your creativity, energy, and curiosity to Waymark.

About this Role

As the Director of Ohio Operations for Waymark, you will be a key leader in our operations, directly overseeing our local managers and the patient-facing care teams within your assigned state with responsibility for delivering on operational, clinical, and financial goals. You are an experienced leader who excels at developing and mentoring managers and their teams to deliver excellent patient care and service. You are passionate about empowering teams to use a metrics-driven approach and continuous process improvement to meet the highest standards of care access, coordination, and quality for patients with Medicaid benefits. You will report to and collaborate with the Regional VP to represent regional needs and deliver on operational goals. You will also support your local managers as they engage with local providers and community-based organizations to build strong relationships that support the health and social needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of local managers to ensure alignment with state-level operational, clinical, and financial goals.
  • Assist local managers with hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members to support regional growth and retention goals.
  • Own state performance of goals by tracking and reporting on operational performance within your market and translating high-level strategic objectives into actionable plans for local care teams.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to local managers, fostering their professional development and ensuring a high-performing, collaborative team culture.
  • Oversee the day-to-day performance of care teams within your designated region, ensuring they meet the highest standards of patient access, care coordination, and quality.
  • Collaborate with national care support teams (Clinical, Quality, Analytics, etc.) to relay regional needs and challenges and implement new workflows and initiatives.
  • Support regional VP, Partnerships and Implementation teams to successfully launch new contracts in the state in conjunction with partner expectations and timelines.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for local providers and community-based organizations, helping to develop, maintain and strengthen partnerships that support Waymark patients.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare or health services operations, with a focus on patient-facing care teams, outpatient services, and/or whole-person care focus.
  • 3+ years of direct people management experience, including supervising managers or team leads.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operational performance, gather and analyze data, and drive continuous improvement within a defined geographic area.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with budget oversight or financial management.
  • A track record of effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including providers and community partners.
  • Ability to travel frequently within the state to support local teams and engage with community stakeholders.
  • Must reside in Ohio, preferably Cleveland.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A history of relationships or experience with community-based healthcare initiatives in the region and medicaid.
  • Strong understanding of barriers to healthcare access and quality among diverse, underserved populations.
  • Experience working in startup environments and enjoys rapid pace of work.
  • MHA or MBA
