As we build Yotpo’s next generation platform, we’re also exploring how AI can power smarter, more personalized eCommerce experiences. If you’re excited about leveraging AI technologies alongside modern engineering practices, this role is a great opportunity to make an impact.

You will play a key role in developing and enhancing our platform, designed to be reliable, scalable, and a foundation for enabling other product lines. This involves tackling complex challenges, including building critical applications capable of handling large datasets and high volumes of data efficiently. We are looking for an experienced Engineering Team Lead who is passionate about both people leadership, as well as engineering solutions that deliver real user impact.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and own the full development lifecycle of critical platform services—from architecture and coding to testing, deployment, and production monitoring.
  • Champion technical excellence, promoting best practices in engineering, system design, and AI integration.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver impactful, end-to-end solutions.
  • Mentor and coach engineers, fostering growth through feedback, career development, and technical guidance.
  • Drive effective team processes ensuring clarity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with recruiting to attract, interview, and hire top talent.
  • Balance team priorities, aligning near-term delivery with long-term technical investments.
  • Define and own key results aligned with higher-level business objectives and ensure successful delivery.
  • Cultivate a collaborative, high-trust team culture where engineers feel empowered and motivated.

What you bring to the table:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and with a range of stakeholders.
  • Prior experience leading engineering teams, including mentoring, coaching, and guiding career development.
  • Proven ability to manage team processes, ensuring effective delivery through planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical leadership with people management, ensuring alignment between team health, technical quality, and business outcomes.
  • A customer- and outcome-focused mindset, with a track record of driving real user impact rather than simply shipping features.
  • Solid experience and a deep understanding of event-driven and microservices architectures, as well as scalable system design.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Java and the Java ecosystem, building and maintaining robust production backend systems.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, design patterns, and object-oriented programming.
  • Demonstrated experience owning services end-to-end, including architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Strong interest in leveraging AI to enhance engineering productivity.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud provider.

  • Experience with AWS.
  • Experience with frontend technologies such as React or Angular.
  • Experience with AI-driven development tools.
