Overview

The Account Director is a senior member of the team building strong, trusting relationships with clients by ensuring excellence in delivery, clear communication, and sound strategic guidance. The Account Director proactively maximises the potential of accounts, taking direction from their senior sales leads on new business opportunities and facilitating the organic growth of existing accounts .

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the business needs of clients and drive benefit-led partnerships with them
  • Develop the growth strategy across a portfolio of clients in conjunction with the senior sales leads and manage the sales/account strategies for our clients, including identifying and winning business
  • Take sole responsibility for delivering sales across a small portfolio of accounts with a combined revenue of up to ยฃ250k
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior-level clients
  • Educate clients and evangelise digital marketing across healthcare & Pharma events
  • Mentor and coach junior members of the team to develop closer relationships with their clients and deep understanding of their businesses and key objectives
  • Ensuring adequate resources and processes are in place to service and grow key accounts
  • Work closely with the Programme Management and Operations teams to ensure that the customer is receiving the highest level of service and excellent delivery of campaigns
  • Work with the senior sales leads to identify renewal opportunities within existing clients; supporting in the creation of proposals
  • Work with the Group Account Director to ensure insights and robust recommendations are regularly shared with the client.
  • Working with client contacts and procurement departments to put in place Master Service Agreements across all key accounts
  • Sharing best practice across the sales teams and wider business units
  • Work closely with the Programme Management team to support in ensuring programmes are delivered on time, on budget, and meet KPIs.
  • Establish and maintain excellent customer relationships through regular close contact, including face-to-face meetings, telephone and e-mail communication

Qualifications

Profile

  • Ability to identify customers key business objectives, and translate these into successful communication programmes
  • Experience of building long-term, sustainable relationships with clients
  • Ability to motivate the wider team to contribute to the commercial business
  • Excellent communication, report writing, analytical and project management skills

Management

  • Proven experience of leading and inspiring a team and responsibility for team development
  • Able to develop and maintain strong business relationships across the Pharma/ Healthcare industry
  • A clear concise communicator at all levels who develops trust easily both internally and externally to the organisation
  • Excellent time management skills

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educated to Degree level, or equivalent
  • Proven ability of building strong client relationships and surpassing expectations
  • Experience of working in healthcare at a strategic level, preferably servicing the Pharma industry
  • Experience of managing accounts and relationships for multiple customers at a European or global level
  • Experience of and passion for presenting to customers at a senior management level
  • Experience in developing strategies and formulating proposals for clients
