Job description
Hi there!
We’re SweedPos , a product-driven startup building an all-in-one cannabis retail platform. We’re on the lookout for a Account Manager to join our team remotely and help us build a scalable, proactive Account Management function. You’ll be part of the early foundation of our evolving Customer Success org and helping define what great looks like and directly impacting the customer experience.
About Us
At Sweed, we’re reimagining how cannabis retailers operate. Our enterprise-grade platform combines POS, eCommerce, Marketing, Analytics and Inventory Management into a single, seamless solution—eliminating the need for multiple third-party tools.
We believe in simplicity, efficiency, and innovation. That’s why we build for scalability and performance, making life easier for cannabis retailers while driving real business growth.
Why We’re Doing This
At Sweed, we believe in the medicinal potential of cannabis. It has been shown to help with chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and many other conditions. Despite the lingering stigma, we see cannabis as a powerful tool for improving lives.
The industry is evolving rapidly, and we’re here to drive that transformation—making cannabis retail more efficient, accessible, and customer-friendly.
Where We Are Now
We’ve been on the market for 7 years, continuously growing and refining our product.
Our focus is on earning customer trust, which means constantly improving our delivery processes and rolling out new features. At the same time, we navigate the complex legal landscape of the cannabis industry, ensuring our platform remains compliant and future-proof.
Team Structure
Right now, our total team size is around 200 people:
The development team is distributed globally and organized into cross-functional product teams. These teams typically consist of 8–12 members, including front-end and back-end developers, QA specialists, and analysts.
Each team is led by a Team Lead and a Product Owner, ensuring effective collaboration and clear direction.
Meanwhile, our CEO, account managers, and customer success team are based in the USA, working closely with us to align product development with business and user needs.
About the Role
Our Account Managers play a key role in the success of our clients and our business. You’ll serve as a relationship manager, upsell clients on additional services, assist in the onboarding process, consult on industry best practices, and proactively raise churn risks and concerns.
This role is ideal for team members who thrive in startup environments, enjoy building relationships, and love helping clients feel confident and supported.
What You’ll Do
Manage a growing book of business and serve as the main point of contact outside of Support.
Work cross-functionally with Support, Implementation, Product, and Sales to ensure smooth handoffs and clear client expectations.
Identify opportunities to expand revenue through upselling clients on new services or products.
Collect feature request requirements and drive new feature adoption.
Be a voice of the customer to influence product development and roadmaps.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and documentation.
Assist in launching shops on-site as needed.
What professional skills are important for us?
Experience with building customer relationships, retention, sales, training, and platform support.
Comfort working with cannabis operators and understanding their operational nuances.
Proven ability to manage a large book of business with excellent organizational skills.
Familiarity with POS systems and cannabis retail operations (inventory, compliance, METRC, etc.).
A systems-thinker mindset - you’re always looking to improve how things are done, not just keep doing them the same way.
Comfort with various software tools (e.g. Hubspot, JIRA, ClickUp, Slack, Notion, etc).
Strong communication skills, both with clients and internally.
Technical skills and experience working in a tech and remote environment.
Knowledge of compliance systems like METRC, BioTrack, or state-specific frameworks.
What Else Matters?
Proactivity– We love team members who take initiative and provide feedback
Critical thinking – We value problem-solvers who think beyond just writing code
Adaptability – Our industry is evolving fast, and we need people who thrive in change
What We Offer
Medical, dental, vision, and other health insurance options.
Paid parental leave.
Paid company observed holidays.
Generous paid time off.
