The Role:

Morning Consult is seeking an accomplished and strategic leader to join our Commercial team as an Account Portfolio Leader, AVP. In this role, you will lead a high-performing team and oversee a portfolio of Fortune 500 client accounts, driving profitable growth and delivering best-in-class reputation and marketing insights. You will play a critical role in shaping account strategy, developing talent and building trusted relationships with C-suite executives at some of the world’s most influential organizations.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in research design, execution and analytics—particularly in reputation and marketing insights—and will be adept at presenting to and influencing executive stakeholders. You will balance high-level strategic thinking with day-to-day execution, ensuring delivery excellence and driving innovation across your portfolio.

The Research Solutions Team at Morning Consult:

The Research Solutions Team at Morning Consult is focused on custom-designed research and is crucial to Morning Consult’s industry-leading, customer-obsessed Commercial Organization and its ability to drive sustainable growth across our entire portfolio of business. Morning Consult’s mission is to deliver high-impact, quality intelligence at scale to decision-makers anytime, anywhere. Our team consists of business leaders and researchers with experience in market research, insights, political polling, strategic consulting and more.

What You’ll Be Working On:

Portfolio Growth Strategy: Drive the growth of an account portfolio by developing and activating strategic account plans, identifying usage and upsell opportunities aligned with Morning Consult’s broader growth priorities. Proactively deliver revenue ahead of pace on existing contracts.

Talent Management: Lead, coach and mentor a team of talented professionals. Oversee resource allocation, performance management and talent development to ensure delivery excellence and a positive, high-performing team culture. Delegate effectively and empower others to execute with accountability.

Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong, consultative relationships with senior stakeholders as well as C-suite and executive clients at Fortune 500 companies. Serve as a spokesperson for Morning Consult, providing strategic guidance and thought leadership to key decision-makers.

Delivery Excellence and Optimization: Ensure your team delivers high-quality, data-driven insights that inform critical business decisions for clients. Adopt and optimize best-practice delivery processes, resolve complex client issues and keep engagements on track.

Financial Management: Provide accurate monthly sales and revenue forecasts for your portfolio. Manage your team to achieve revenue, retention and growth targets, ensuring all work is priced and delivered profitably.

MC Representation: Model Morning Consult’s operating principles and values. Take ownership of internal initiatives aligned with broader Commercial priorities and contribute to the company’s thought leadership in the market.

About You and What You’ve Done:

12+ years of professional experience in quantitative market research, insights or consulting, with a focus on reputation and marketing insights creation.

Demonstrated success presenting to and influencing executive stakeholders, including C-suite leaders at Fortune 500 companies.

Significant experience managing and developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Proven track record in revenue management, forecasting and driving account-level growth.

Deep expertise in research design, execution and analytics, with the ability to provide strategic consultation to clients.

Strong prioritization and delegation skills, with the ability to focus your team on achieving long-term objectives and translating strategic priorities into clear, actionable plans.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling, data-driven narratives for executive audiences.

Uncompromising attention to detail and a passion for data-driven decision-making.

Creative problem solver with an ability to simplify complex scenarios and drive solutions that deliver measurable business impact.

Feedback-oriented, open to learning and continuous self-improvement and proactive in raising inefficiencies and barriers to success.

The expected salary range for this position is $124,900 - $205,500, with a midpoint of $165,200.

In most cases, we target the midpoint of our salary ranges for new hire compensation. This placement is reflective of full proficiency in a role. This role is eligible for additional variable compensation and an equity grant, which will be discussed in your initial recruiter conversation.
