Responsibilities:
- Daily Bookkeeping: Record all financial transactions accurately and on time to ensure the books are always up-to-date.
- Tax Support: Help identify tax-saving opportunities and ensure that relevant details are shared with the client’s CPA or tax professional.
- Answer Financial Questions: Be ready to explain financial details clearly when the client has questions about their accounts.
- Document Preparation: Create clear and professional financial documents for banks, lenders, or other third parties when needed.
- Independent Work: Take full ownership of accounting tasks with minimal day-to-day communication (just 2–3 check-ins per month).
What We’re Looking For:
- Accurate & Organized: You keep clean, error-free books and follow a consistent process.
- Independent: You can handle bookkeeping tasks without regular check-ins or reminders.
- U.S. Accounting Familiarity: You understand how bookkeeping and tax reporting work for U.S.-based businesses.
- Clear Communicator: You can explain financial matters clearly and respond professionally over email.
- Reliable & Responsible: You take deadlines seriously and can be trusted with sensitive financial data.
Required Experience & Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in accounting (U.S. clients preferred).
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel.
- Familiarity with U.S. tax basics and accounting standards.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and stay organized.
- Based in Pakistan or the Philippines is preferred due to budget and time-zone alignment.
What a Typical Day Looks Like:
You’ll start your day by reviewing accounts, updating records, and checking for anything unusual. You’ll make sure everything is properly recorded and organized. When needed, you’ll flag potential tax-saving items or prepare requested documents. You’ll work independently and communicate only when necessary, keeping everything accurate and up-to-date behind the scenes.
Interview Process:
- Intro Call: A short conversation to go over your background and the role.
2. Video Interview: A 30-minute discussion about your experience and work style.
3. Practical Task: A short task to see how you handle real bookkeeping work.
