Network Security Engineer - Contract to Hire

We are looking for an Application Delivery Engineer join our growing team. This role will be instrumental in deploying a new F5 environment and related services, ensuring secure, reliable application delivery across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in F5 BIG-IP technologies, application and network troubleshooting, and cloud security services, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.

  • Configure, deploy, and maintain F5 BIG-IP LTM, DNS, Web Application Firewall, and manage TLS/SSL certificates.
  • Perform network and application troubleshooting, monitoring, alert management, and packet capture analysis.
  • Develop Visio diagrams, end-user guides, and other technical documentation.
  • Utilize Azure security services, automation tools, and container ingress services to enhance delivery performance and security.
  • Maintain current knowledge of security techniques and technologies to mitigate risk.
  • Communicate root cause analysis and resolutions effectively to stakeholders.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 2+ years of core IT experience with expertise in one or more IT professional disciplines (Applications, Networking, Security, Systems Engineering, etc.).

Certifications:

  • Relevant F5, Azure, or networking/security certifications preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • F5 BIG-IP LTM, DNS, TLS/SSL certificate management, Web Application Firewall.
  • Network and application troubleshooting and monitoring.
  • Packet capture and analysis tools.
  • Azure Security Services, automation, and container ingress technologies.
  • Strong documentation skills (Visio diagrams, user guides).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment:

  • Remote work from home.
  • Hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday. Specific business hours will depend on client needs.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • The person in this position must occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, library stacks, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with clients and coworkers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
