About ProBio

ProBio proactively provides end-to-end CDMO service from drug discovery to commercialization with proactive strategies, professional solutions and efficient processes in cell and gene therapy, vaccine, biologics discovery and antibody protein drug to accelerate drug development for customers. ProBio’s total cell and gene therapy solution covers CMC of plasmid and virus for IND filing as well as clinical manufacturing and commercial manufacturing.

GenScript Europe is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Business Development to drive growth in our Protein Service Line segment across the Benelux and London region. In this position, you will play a key role in prospection activities, identifying business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and achieving sales targets by promoting GenScript’s world-class protein services to our clients.

Job Title: Business Development Manager – Protein Service Line

Working Hours: Full-Time (40 hours per week)

Location: Fully Remote (Candidates must reside in the Netherlands or Belgium)

Territory: Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg) and London (United Kingdom) region

Note: This role is designated for GenScript and does not fall under the scope of ProBio operations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Market Development:
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities within the protein services market in the assigned regions.
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to tailor offerings to regional demands.
  • Client Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers in academic institutions, Governmental Institutions, Healthcare, biotech, pharmaceutical, and industrial organizations.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customers, ensuring high satisfaction and acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Sales and Revenue Growth:
  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth in the assigned territories.
  • Collaborate with the different internal departments and teams to promote protein services and create customized solutions for clients.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, logistics, legal, finance, FAS, TAM, PM and R&D, to deliver exceptional service and address customer-specific needs.
  • Provide market feedback to the product development team for continuous improvement.
  • Training and Presentations:
  • Conduct client presentations and technical workshops to showcase GenScript’s protein service capabilities.
  • Represent GenScript at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
  • Regional Strategy Execution:
  • Develop localized strategies for the Benelux and London region to expand GenScript’s footprint in emerging and established markets.
  • Ensure compliance with regional regulations and adapt sales tactics to suit diverse cultural and market contexts.

Key Qualifications:

  • A Master’s or Ph.D. degree in life sciences, biotechnology, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management in the biotechnology or life sciences industry.
  • Strong knowledge of protein services, protein engineering, and related biotechnologies. Strong knowledge of mammalian expression systems is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently.
  • Proficiency in English; additional language skills relevant to the assigned territories is a plus (e.g., Dutch, German or French).
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned regions (up to 30%).
