About The Role:

Misfits Market is looking for an experienced and motivated Product Manager to help shape the future of fresh fulfillment for 300K+ households around the country.

As a member of our highly collaborative and small-but-mighty Business Operations team, you’ll work closely with engineers, stakeholders, and leadership to architect in-house systems that power our cutting-edge fresh grocery fulfillment service. If you are someone who loves building home-grown scalable and impactful tools from the ground up, we’d love to hear from you.

About The Team:

The Business Operations Tech Team owns a suite of internal platforms and tools, most of which is built in our in-house system (affectionately named Jalapeño):

  • WMS & IMS: Our Warehouse and Inventory Management Systems that power our national network of fulfillment centers, order management and our custom perishable–optimized packing algorithm

  • TMS: Our Transportation Management System that powers our in-house and 3P shipping network to, from, and between our FC’s

  • Our Ecommerce Product Catalog that we use to power our DTC, Wholesale, and Misfits RX shopping experiences

  • Netsuite, our Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP), that powers our financial reporting

  • Our B2B technology integrations which include:

  • Fulfilled by Misfits - Where we handle perishable 3rd party logistics for DTC companies and help them scale easily with our existing infrastructure

  • MisfitsRx - Our Food-as-Medicine program where we partner with healthcare providers by supplying patients with healthy, fresh, and medically tailored groceries straight to their home

  • Misfits Wholesale - Where we help businesses unlock fresh grocery by delivering wholesale to micro-fulfillment centers

Responsibilities

  • Roadmapping and Product Strategy

    • Define and own the product strategy for key internal systems, including Warehouse Management, Inventory Management, ERP integrations, Catalog Management, Pricing Systems, Vendor Management, and Purchase Order Management.
    • Own quarterly and semi-annual roadmaps for Business Operations that drive critical projects and business goals.
  • Discovery and Product Development

    • Own the end-to-end product development lifecycle for Business Operations from ideation to launch to iteration / maintenance
    • Scope, prioritize, and conduct discovery for new tools and features by working cross-functionally with stakeholders to identify the opportunity / problem space, gather requirements, and deliver measurable value.
    • Create precise documentation and clear wireframes / prototypes that communicate requirements effectively with engineers and stakeholders
    • Run demos and manage carefully planned rollouts across our systems, teams, and facilities
  • Collaborating with Stakeholders and Program / Project Management

    • Lead large, cross-functional initiatives across the company with expert program management skills that keep teams on schedule and to plan.
    • Partner closely with stakeholders and leaders across departments (Operations, Merchandising, B2B, Finance, etc) to drive alignment and facilitate key decisions
    • Triage, prioritize, and manage backlog of internal requests to balance run-the-business needs vs. longer-term opportunities

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong Execution Background

    • 5+ years of product management experience developing and scaling internal or enterprise-grade business systems (both in-house and 3rd-party platforms).
    • Autonomous and comfortable jumping between strategy and execution — from product strategy and roadmap planning to wireframing and writing requirements to chasing down bugs / fires
    • Expert in agile, scrum, and modern product development practices.
  • Product & Systems Thinking and Analytical Decision-Making

    • Strong technical and systems-thinking mindset; able to break down complex operational workflows and translate them into scalable platform solutions.
    • Skilled at navigating ambiguity while managing multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to balance short-term needs with long-term product vision.
    • Analytical decision-maker who can balance competing priorities, risks, and dependencies using data to evaluate impact and trade-offs
  • Discovery, Collaboration and Influence

    • You have a strong curiosity, an eye for good design, and harbor a deep empathy for internal and external users with the ability to run your own user interviews and research
    • Proven ability to influence and align stakeholders across multiple levels and functions of an organization.
    • Excellent communicator— adept at writing product specs, facilitating cross-functional discussions, and delivering presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.

Bonus points if:

  • You’re passionate about food access and creating a better food system
  • You’re a member of our service and have used our product
  • You have experience in supply chain / operations, ERP systems, B2B or 3PL
  • You’re familiar with tools such as Netsuite and Salesforce
  • You have experience building wireframes and prototypes with Figma, Figjam or v0 by Vercel
  • You have experience applying AI or machine learning in your past products / processes
  • You have experience with creating easy-to-use tools for users via qualitative / customer research

Details of Position & Benefits:

  • Annual Salary $130k - $160k
  • Remote with coworking opportunities in NYC
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Annual Misfits grocery box credit of $1200 paid in weekly installments
