Job description

Mixlab, a fast-growing veterinary compounding pharmacy with a deep passion for helping practices deliver top-tier care, is expanding into the equine world—and we’re just getting started! From hoof to tail, we create reliable, customized pharmaceutical solutions that help animals thrive.

We’re on the lookout for a driven, personable, and energetic Business Development Representative who’s ready to  hit the ground running and #makeithappen. If you’re fueled by the chance to make an impact and love building relationships, this could be your next big move.

Join us in shaping the future of veterinary care—for every horse, every rider, and every practice we serve.

In this role, you will be responsible for outbound sales development activities.  You will reach out to veterinary clinics - especially those with an equine focus -  to introduce our services, qualify leads, and schedule meetings for our sales reps.  You will also handle incoming inquiries and follow up to ensure an exceptional customer experience.  Additionally, you will support the sales team with some light admin work   to keep everything moving efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate new leads through outbound cold calling and emailing
  • Maintain a high call volume of 30+ calls and emails per day to veterinary practices, introducing our pharmacy services and qualifying potential clients
  • Conduct timely follow-up calls to nurture leads and move them through the sales pipeline
  • Schedule meetings and product demos for our Territory Managers
  • Handle inbound inquiries via email from prospective or current clients
  • Leverage our tech systems, such as HubSpot and internal reporting, to note and maintain accurate records and lead notes properly
  • Become an expert on our products and services to effectively demonstrate our value proposition
  • Perform additional duties and tasks deemed appropriate for the position by the supervisor (admin & sales team support, such as data entry)
  • Work closely with sales and marketing to share feedback, trends and help improve strategies

Skills & Requirements:

  • Prior experience or exposure to the Equine Industry preferred. A passion for veterinary medicine, particularly equine, is a big plus!
  • Minimum 6 months of customer-facing experience
  • Minimum 3 months of phone/prospecting experience
  • Desire for continuous learning in the field of sales
  • Ability to quickly learn the tools and skills necessary to succeed in the Business Development Representative role
  • Experience using standard office technology of various types in personal or professional life, and comfort in doing so in a remote environment
  • Ability to build rapport and make connections with all types of personalities over the phone
  • Naturally competitive in nature, while still being a team player
  • Willingness to implement and provide feedback
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

What we offer:

  • 100% employer-paid health, dental and vision insurance for our employees, effective on the first of the month following your start date
  • Paid time off for vacation, holidays and sick time, with the ability to accrue more vacation time with increased tenure
  • Competitive starting wages with the opportunity for rapid career growth, promotion, and wage increases
  • Company Stock Options
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits, dependent care, HSA and FSA
  • Employer-paid short and long-term disability leave, parental leave, and life insurance
  • 401k with $300/year match
  • Referral bonus payouts of up to $1,000 for a successful referral
  • Human and pet wellness benefits, including $650/year allowance for routine pet care through Wagmo
  • Discounts on many items through Perkspot
  • And more!

$60,000 - $65,000 a year
