Our flagship campus is in Sydney, Australia but we engage our Contractors all over the world to help us meet our crazy big goals. As a Contractor at Canva you can work remotely in from anywhere listed in the job ad location. meaning you have ultimate flexibility. Wherever works for you, works for us. Please note, this is a 6-month contract with full-time hours.
What you’d be doing in this role
We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) with Contract Administration experience to join the Space Creation Team delivering high-performance workplace construction projects for Canva. You’ll be part of a dynamic project delivery team responsible for managing commercial fit-outs and new office spaces that reflect Canva’s unique brand and workplace culture.
- This role is ideal for someone with a solid grounding in construction project management who thrives in fast-paced environments and has a passion for both the technical and administrative sides of project delivery. In terms of what you will learn and how you will grow at Canva:
- You’ll gain hands-on experience delivering high-impact workplace projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, balancing design intent with operational needs.
- You’ll develop strong cross-functional collaboration skills by working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, and consultants across all stages of the project lifecycle.
- You’ll build deep knowledge of end-to-end project delivery, from feasibility and procurement through to construction, handover, and post-occupancy review.

We’re looking for a motivated individual who is able to take responsibility for tasks and can work independently, as well as working well within a team environment. The ideal candidate would have:
- You have experience in project coordination, contract administration, or assistant project management within the construction or commercial fit-out industry
- You have experience from client-side or contractor-side
- You have demonstrated ability to deliver projects in occupied workplace environments
- You have familiarity with construction contract frameworks including AS 4905, AS 4915, AS 4000
- You have proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and construction management platforms such as Procore and Aconex
- You have excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- You have a proactive mindset with strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline
