We’re looking for a talented Data Scientist with strong Python coding skills to join our team. You’ll be key to managing and improving the core Python code that powers our machine learning models and data analysis. You’ll work closely with our experienced data scientists, helping them build and run their projects by making sure our codebase is top-notch. If you love writing great code and want to make a big impact on data science systems, this is for you!
You will report to the Senior Manager, Data Science. Antenna is a remote-first company, and we are looking for candidates who can work during US business hours. Preferably, you should be based in a US time zone (Eastern, Central, Mountain, or Pacific).
What You’ll Do
- Write, test, and improve the Python code for machine learning models
- Take care of our main Python codebase: keep it organized, fix bugs, make it faster, and add new features
- Help run our code in the cloud (we use Google Cloud Platform - GCP). This includes using tools like Cloud Build (to prepare code) and Cloud Run (to run services)
- Analyze, prepare, and clean data for our data science projects and models
- Write clear notes and documentation about the code you create and the systems you manage
- Find and fix technical problems in your code and debug them when running on cloud services
- Help make our data science tools and systems more efficient and reliable
Who You Are
- You have 1-3 years of experience writing custom Python code professionally, especially for projects involving data or machine learning
- You are proficient at Python: You understand object-oriented programming, write code that can be tested, and know how to use important libraries like and write your own libraries
- You are comfortable using Git for managing code with a team
- You have some experience with cloud services (GCP is a big plus) and know a bit about running applications in the cloud (maybe with Docker or tools like Cloud Run)
- You have good SQL skills for working with large amounts of data
- You understand the basic ideas of machine learning
- You are an excellent problem-solver, pay attention to small details, and can find and fix issues in code
- You can communicate well in English, especially about technical subjects
- Advanced English proficiency (B2-C1). Please submit a resume in English language in the application.
- You are excited to learn, happy to work as part of a team, and can take guidance from senior members
- You care about writing clean, well-organized, and well-documented code
Bonus
- Experience in or passion for the Subscription Economy, particularly in media and entertainment sectors
- Experience with GCP services like Cloud Run, Cloud Build, and BigQuery
- Built or helped maintain Python libraries that other developers use
- Knowledge of MLOps (Machine Learning Operations) tools or practices
- Used tools for managing data workflows
