Job description

About Midnight

Midnight is a new blockchain platform focused on privacy, security, and data protection. We are building infrastructure for the next generation of applications that empower users to own and protect their data. Currently in testnet, we’re gearing up for a major mainnet launch. Our Developer Relations team is at the forefront of shaping the ecosystem, developer education, and community strategy.

The Role

We are seeking a Community Operations Manager to join our Developer Relations team. This role will lead the systems, structure, and strategy that support a thriving and respectful developer community. This role blends operations, analytics, onboarding, and engagement strategy to ensure that our Discord, forums, and social spaces are safe, inclusive, and high-signal, while helping developers move from onboarding to long-term contribution.

What You’ll Do

Operationalize our Developer Community Spaces

  • Own the systems and tooling that power our Discord, forum, and community channels
  • Manage and evolve moderation policies, code of conduct, safety protocols, and escalation processes
  • Coordinate with moderators and DevRel engineers to ensure developers receive timely and high-quality responses across Discord, Telegram, and forums

Design and Execute Onboarding + Engagement Journeys

  • Create developer onboarding flows that guide new contributors from faucet to forum to full-stack deployment
  • Identify drop-off points in the developer journey and implement experiments to address them
  • Collaborate with DevRel Engineers to create campaigns that increase participation in hackathons, educational challenges, and technical quests

Own Community Metrics + Feedback Systems

  • Set up data pipelines for tracking engagement, onboarding, and retention
  • Provide regular reporting on community health, sentiment, and emerging needs
  • Translate community feedback into actionable insights for DevRel, Product, and Engineering

Contribute to Developer-Facing Programming

  • Partner with DevRel Engineers to co-facilitate community-facing events such as workshops, community calls, and AMAs when aligned with strategic initiatives
  • Help coordinate logistics, communication, and follow-up for developer events

Champion Inclusion + Open Source Culture

  • Ensure our spaces are globally accessible, safe, and welcoming to all developers
  • Advocate for transparency, open collaboration, and contribution as part of our ecosystem culture
  • Support our transition to open source by building systems that make external contributions easy and rewarding

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Engineering and Product teams to surface developer pain points and track the resolution of technical blockers
  • Collaborate with Security and Legal to ensure policies and moderation practices align with platform compliance and safety goals
  • Collaborate with Marketing to align messaging and campaigns, ensuring a consistent, high-integrity community experience across all channels while maintaining clear boundaries around developer support and technical enablement

Our philosophy: Community operations is not just moderation. It’s ecosystem infrastructure. This role builds the systems that make developer collaboration, feedback loops, and contribution possible.

About You

  • 5+ years of experience in community operations, DevRel, or program management in developer-focused environments
  • Familiarity with open source ecosystems and the cultural nuances of working with global technical contributors
  • Experience implementing and scaling community codes of conduct, moderation practices, and community tooling
  • Comfortable working closely with technical stakeholders; able to understand developer needs and translate them into operational insights and programs
  • Experience using community tools like Discord, Discourse, GitHub, and analytics platforms (Orbit, Common Room, etc.)
  • Experience with customer success management systems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Intercom) to support feedback collection, triage, and lifecycle tracking
  • Strong project management skills with a low-ego, high-accountability mindset
  • Bonus: Previous experience in Web3, blockchain, or developer education communities

What Success Looks Like

  • Our Discord and developer forums have become high-signal, welcoming, and self-sustaining
  • Onboarding friction is reduced, and more developers stick around to ship meaningful contributions
  • Community feedback is consistently collected, analyzed, and acted upon
  • Developers know where to go for help and leave feeling supported, heard, and empowered

Why Join Us?

You’ll be joining a mission-driven team working on some of the most meaningful challenges in blockchain today: privacy, inclusion, and open infrastructure. You’ll have autonomy, flexibility, and a leadership team that values learning in public, feedback loops, and building with the community, not just for it.
