Job summary:
The Ad Council’s Media Team is seeking a Director, Media Engagement (Independent Contractor) to support the Media Strategy & Engagement Center of Excellence by securing donated media placements for our Mental Health initiative in Georgia. As the Ad Council’s ambassador in the state, you’ll work closely with local media outlets—from regional powerhouses to neighborhood affiliates—to promote and drive visibility for this critical effort.
Your deep knowledge of Georgia’s media landscape will help shape an effective local outreach strategy, while ongoing collaboration with the national outreach team will ensure smooth coordination and alignment across all efforts.
This fast-paced role is ideal for someone with a strong media buying background, a proven track record in media sales or partnerships, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for both media innovation and social impact.
Compensation and engagement:
The Ad Council is seeking an experienced independent contractor to work on a contract basis. We presently anticipate the scope and length of the engagement to be approximately 2 months (35 hours per week, Monday through Friday). The compensation for this position is within the range of $9,000 – $10,000 per month. The independent contractor will receive a 1099 for tax reporting purposes. This is a fully remote position
What you’ll do:
- Assist the Media Strategy and Engagement Center of Excellence in prospecting donated media support with potential new and existing partners on behalf of our Mental Health initiative in Georgia.
- Communicate and coordinate with the Ad Council’s internal national outreach team to ensure efficient execution of local outreach.
- Serve as Ad Council primary contact for senior level regional media executives within the state of Georgia.
- Manage day-to-day responsibilities of engaging with local media partners, including securing, and tracking of donated media support.
- Fulfill key operational responsibilities, including updating Salesforce, tracking donated media support in internal measurement platforms, and consistently submitting timesheet
What you bring:
- 7+ years professional sales, marketing, or agency (media or account management) experience.
- Expert knowledge of Georgia omni-channel media and advertising industries.
- Stellar communication and presentation skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Excellent project manager: organized and detail-oriented with a capacity to thrive in a fast-paced team oriented, deadline-driven environment; ability to expertly manage multiple projects simultaneously and manage-up to senior leadership.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM software (Salesforce, Smartsheet).
- Collaborative thinker, problem solver and team player.
- Self-motivated and goal oriented.
- A positive, empathetic mindset and a fearless openness to finding opportunities where others may not.
