Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Director, Media Engagement Support to lead a critical client engagement focused on optimizing media agency relationships and performance. This role will drive a comprehensive assessment of our client’s current media agency partnerships against industry best practices, potentially including full agency review processes.
Challenge/Background
Our client seeks to evaluate and enhance their media agency relationships through rigorous benchmarking against best-in-class industry models. This strategic initiative may involve conducting comprehensive industry benchmarking studies or supporting a complete media agency review process. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance to ensure our client maximizes value from their media investments and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive assessment of client’s current media agency relationships against industry benchmarks
- Conduct thorough analysis of media agency performance, structure, and capabilities
- Support potential media agency review processes, including RFP development and evaluation
- Develop strategic recommendations for optimizing media agency partnerships
- Create and deliver high-quality client presentations and deliverables under VP oversight
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure comprehensive team engagement and input
- Provide expert insights on evolving media landscape and agency best practices
Qualifications
Media Agency Expertise:
- Extensive experience working with media agencies, particularly those within major Holding Companies (WPP, Omnicom, Publicis, IPG, etc.)
- Deep understanding of agency operations, fee structures, and performance metrics
- Proven track record in agency relationship management and optimization
Media Strategy Knowledge:
- Comprehensive understanding of both brand and performance media tactics
- Experience with integrated media planning and buying across all channels
- Knowledge of media measurement, attribution, and optimization methodologies
AI & Technology Transformation:
- Current understanding of how AI is revolutionizing agency models and operations
- Knowledge of AI-driven media planning, buying, and optimization tools
- Insight into how technology is transforming agency staffing and team structures
Leadership & Delivery:
- Proven ability to lead client deliverable creation with senior-level oversight
- Strong project management skills with ability to meet tight deadlines
- Exceptional leadership capabilities ensuring full team engagement and collaboration
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and stakeholder relationships
Additional Requirements:
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights
- Experience with consulting or advisory roles preferred
