We are looking for a self-driven Video Editor to join our team. As an Editor at Darkroom, your primary duty will be to develop and assist in the development of marketing collateral, including video content and organic content. Our Editors add immense value to our client’s work through native content and strategies. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about using their editing skills to tell a compelling story and help our customers grow their businesses.

This is a fully remote role supporting a team in the EST time zone and is open to candidates based in Brazil, Portugal, and Spain.

Who You Are:

  • Experience creating platform native content (including video content and organic content), especially IG Reels, Meta ads, and TikTok viral video campaigns

  • Exceptional time management and organization skills with the ability to manage deliverables across an array of brands

  • Strong Motion Graphics/ Graphic Design/ Typography skills required

  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro + FCPX

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (especially Media Encoder, After Effects, Premiere, and Photoshop)

  • Familiarity with broadcast finishing workflows (mix, color, VFX, conform, online)

  • Familiarity working in a networked server environment

  • Strong technical knowledge of codecs and transcoding practices

  • Strong time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication skills

  • Proficient with animation/ graphic design preferred

What You’ll Do:

  • You will be editing UGC-style videos in a variety of content formats

  • Develop and execute thumb-stopping social media video edits, layer audio seamlessly and overlay text that drives key brand messaging

  • Brainstorm inventive edits and hooks that drive engagement, leverage new formats

  • Stay current on all social media platforms, ad offerings, content publishers, tools, trends, and best practices

  • Be a creative collaborator: Have the ability to be the voice of the brand and the influencer to create content that is authentic and powerful for all channels

  • Be comfortable using video editing software, editing audio, and taking editing direction, while working in a fast pace environment

  • Provide accessible content that includes closed captioning, voiceover, and overlay text in a variety of aspect ratios

  • Setting up projects for edit staff

  • Ingesting and logging footage

  • Working in tandem with edit staff to meet deadlines

  • Editing lower-level projects

  • Maintaining media storage (hard drives, servers, GDrive)

  • Mastering deliverables and archiving projects

  • Assisting senior staff with edit and administrative needs

  • Versioning various aspect ratios of completed edits

  • Maintaining all software and assets (Mac OSX, server operating system, frame.io, Vimeo, shared assets)

  • Coordinating and troubleshooting edit equipment

  • Reporting to the Post-Production Supervisor and Producers, the AE will upon request create high-quality video edits that will span various media platforms

  • Performance creative editing (collaborating with the performance marketing team in reviewing ad analytics/performance)
