Summary

The team is responsible for network online authorizations for multiple card brands like: visa, mastercard, rupay and elo.

What you’ll do

Weโ€™re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high-performance team, focused on people development, technical quality, and operational excellence. This person will play a crucial role in scaling both people and systems in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

  • Hire, mentor, and grow engineers through regular 1:1s and continuous feedback, with a strong focus on high performance.
  • Keep the team engaged, motivated, and consistently challenged to exceed expectations.
  • Develop deep product knowledge and support your team in doing the same.
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively to ensure ownership and accountability.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and resolve technical challenges.
  • Analyze user needs and design technical solutions accordingly.
  • Foster a healthy, inclusive team culture aligned with company values.
  • Conduct risk assessments and proactively drive improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support during complex challenges.
  • Ensure adherence to development best practices: code quality, PR reviews, test coverage, performance, resilience, and security.
  • Manage the on-call team, ensuring high-quality incident handling and excellent customer experience.
  • Make assertive decisions under pressure and within tight constraints.
  • Work directly with international teams and clients when needed.
  • Monitor team services and newly released features in production, always aiming to meet or exceed SLOs/SLAs.

Minimum Qualifications

Language Skills:

  • Upper Intermediate English Level (B2)

Technical Skills:

  • 3+ years managing high-performing engineering teams.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Java or Golang.
  • Proficient with relational databases.
  • Familiarity with observability tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or similar.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
  • Strong grasp of SRE/DevOps concepts.
  • Previous experience building large-scale, high-throughput systems.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in the card issuing industry.
  • Knowledge of ISO 8583 and authorization systems.
