The Role
The Financial Analyst will support day-to-day financial operations, with a focus on expense management, coding accuracy, internal documentation, and preparation of financial reports. This position provides essential support for accurate financial reporting and ensures consistency during month-end closing and reporting cycles.
What You’ll Do:
- Ensure all corporate spend is properly categorized by account and department before month-end close, particularly through reconciliation of card transactions (e.g., via Ramp or other tools).
- Follow up with cardholders and internal teams to correct or complete financial coding and documentation.
- Proactively identify recurring issues in expense classification and propose solutions, including writing SOPs or internal guides to reduce errors at the source.
- Monitor and validate classification of key expense types (e.g., software, sales & marketing, consulting, contractor payments).
- Assist with gathering and organizing data for monthly financial reporting, including preparation of supporting schedules as requested by senior analysts or accounting.
- Support ad hoc finance requests, including pulling transaction histories, reconciling variances, or conducting analysis as needed.
- Maintain a working understanding of our financial systems and be ready to assist with operational improvements as the company grows.
What We Expect From You:
- 1–3 years of relevant work experience in finance, accounting, or operations support roles.
- High proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Strong Excel skills with working knowledge of formulas, pivot tables, and data cleanup techniques.
- Comfort communicating with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and clarify procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage recurring deadlines.
- Self-starter attitude with a willingness to learn new tools, systems, and processes.
