What you’ll bring
- Deep and broad understanding of the business and technology strategies in which the organisation operates.
- Extensive knowledge of strategy development and implementation principles.
- Strong strategic background, with an ability to grasp the big picture.
- Knowledge of financial management practices.
- 7+ years of finance experience in a corporate environment.
- 4+ years of demonstrated experience in a senior tax role.
- Demonstrated experience in managing people, financial management, and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Managing the direct (corporate income tax) and indirect e.g. (FBT, Payroll, GST, WHT) tax matters for the group, as required.
- Issuing the required documentation for tax payments and returns as well as, approving and lodging tax returns.
- Advising the broader leadership team on tax exposure and the impact from asset disposals, structural business changes and mergers and acquisitions.
- Analysing and identifying areas to reduce tax exposure and recommending tax strategies that align with business goals.
- Liaising with the Taxation Authorities including Australian Taxation Office, auditors, regulatory bodies and outsource providers as required.
- Understanding legislative taxation changes.
- Contributing to the development, management, implementation and evaluation of systems, projects, services, staff and budgets to meet Datacom requirements.
- Collaborating with the Head of Group Tax to address complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the business.
