Job description

ABOUT US

HyperionDev is one of the largest providers of accelerated tech education in EMEA and one of the oldest providers of ‘coding bootcamps’ in the world. We work with top universities such as Imperial College London, The London School of Economics, The University of Edinburgh, and Stellenbosch University to deliver structured technical courses and bootcamps that accelerate people into fulfilling tech careers. We’ve been recognised as one of the top education technology scaleups in the world and gained the financial backing of Meta (previously Facebook), which recognised us as the most socially impactful startup operating in Africa, where we initially started our work.

We’re also home toLongdue, an independent narrative game studio incubated within HyperionDev. Longdue crafts psychologically rich, story-driven RPGs that challenge players to navigate complex moral worlds and deeply human stories. Inspired by games like Disco Elysium, Longdue is in the early stages of developing a bold new RPG IP, with a focus on world-building, narrative depth, and artistic innovation. While HyperionDev focuses on transforming education and careers through technology, Longdue carries the same mission-driven DNA into the world of games, storytelling with purpose and resonance.

Together, HyperionDev and Longdue share infrastructure, support functions, and a deep commitment to pushing boundaries in their respective industries.

At HyperionDev, we are dedicated to closing the global tech skills gap and expanding the possibilities of digital creativity. Our model — combining human mentorship, scalable tech infrastructure, and access-driven partnerships — has helped us reach millions of learners a year from over 60 countries. We’ve partnered with government bodies such as the UK’s Department for Education, who provide scholarships for students to study on our bootcamps and gain employment at companies such as AstraZeneca and the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS).

HyperionDev is backed by nearly 2000 investors, having raised the largest crowdfunding round of funding for an edtech company in history. As a primarily bootstrapped, profitable, and scale-up tech business, join us as we play our part in making the world a more stable, safer, and fair place through both education and interactive storytelling.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As theHead of Brand and Product Marketing, you’ll lead branding and product marketing initiatives acrossboth HyperionDev’s education technologyofferings andLongdue’s upcoming video game projects. This role combines strategic leadership in branding with deep market positioning and campaign direction across two very different — but equally mission-driven — brands.

On the HyperionDev side, you’ll manage and evolve the identity and messaging of one of the world’s top coding bootcamp providers. On the Longdue side, you’ll help shape the launch strategy, campaign storytelling, and go-to-market materials for an ambitious, narrative-first RPG, supporting a team of world-class creatives.

You will manage cross-functional teams, including content creators, designers, and product marketing managers, to craft cohesive brand narratives, develop go-to-market strategies, and ensure product success across education and entertainment. This is a rare opportunity to lead brand strategy in both the edtech and indie games space, applying your expertise in two distinct but highly creative environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Brand Strategy: Build and refine the architecture of the HyperionDev brand and its sub-brands — includingLongdue Games— defining brand vision, equity, and value propositions.

Product Marketing: Lead the product marketing team to understand customer insights, create positioning strategies, and craft messaging for product launches.

Campaign Management: Conceptualize and execute cross-channel marketing campaigns for product launches, events, and brand awareness, including website, CRM, social media, and PR,spanning both HyperionDev bootcamps and Longdue’s IP.

Creative Direction: Oversee the creative development process, ensuring all visual and written content aligns with the brand’s identity and vision, from concept through execution across digital, print, and multimedia platforms. Collaborate with designers, writers, and external agencies to deliver cohesive, innovative, and impactful campaigns across education and game narratives alike.

Market Research: Conduct market and audience research to refine our approach and maintain competitive positioning.

Cross-functional leadership: Collaborate with teams across admissions, product, and careers to align strategies, ensure brand consistency, and support revenue generation.

Content Strategy: Oversee content marketing efforts for performance marketing and sales enablement, including managing content calendars and ensuring alignment across all channels.

Events and Activations: Plan and execute events, roadshows, and activations that strengthen the brand and engage key audiences.

Team Management: Hire, lead, and mentor a team of marketers, copywriters, and designers. Manage relationships with external agencies and freelancers.

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 7 years of marketing experience in brand management and product marketing, ideally within high-growth industries.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale consumer marketing campaigns, including at an international level.
  • Strong project management skills with a history of leading cross-functional teams and managing marketing projects from concept to execution.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing, social media management, and PR strategies, including campaign metrics, paid media, and influencer collaborations.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience in managing cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Basecamp, Trello) and agile methodologies (sprint management with marketers and developers).
  • Management of external suppliers, agencies, and freelancers.
  • Experience with content calendars and scheduling tools.
  • Strong analytical skills, including detailed knowledge of website data analysis tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and proficiency in creating reports on key website and social media metrics.

BENEFITS

Flexible & remote working: We are a remote-friendly organisation and offer flexible work options.

Generous annual leave and medical benefits: We provide up to 19 annual leave days as part of our leave policy, as well as health insurance or medical aid benefits for our staff.

Join the heart of tech in Africa, the US, and Europe: You’ll work with the best of the best and rub shoulders with the world leaders in edtech, developer education, and developer assessments. Join one of the most ambitious and highest-performing tech companies in the space, with a founding team that draws their former experience from companies such as Google, Amazon, GetSmarter/2U, & Yoco.

Life-changing work: Solve real problems that make education and tech careers accessible to those who need it most: you’re allowed to brag about it.
