We’re looking for an HR Manager who can split their week 60% recruiting, 40% people-ops, and keep every detail sharp. You’ll be our first dedicated HR hire, so you’ll build processes while getting your hands dirty with day-to-day tasks.
In this role, you will:
🔍 Lead global talent searches, post roles, screen, and hire teammates across all levels, from junior staff to C-level executives.
🗂️ Manage full-cycle recruiting - from job ad to signed contract and onboarding
🚀 Design scalable HR frameworks: handbooks, compliance docs, feedback cycles
🤝 Coach managers on performance, feedback, and team health
📊 Roll out and maintain HR tech (BambooHR or similar) for data you can trust
📅 Keep time-tracking, holidays, and global schedules transparent and tidy
💬 Drive culture and engagement programs that make remote life feel connected
We’re fully remote and async-friendly; just keep roughly 4 hours overlap with GMT+8 and CET for interviews and team calls.
You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
✅ 5+ years HR experience in fast-growing, remote settings
✅ Proven success recruiting across South Africa, Europe and Asia
✅ Hands-on with HR ops: contracts, compliance, HRIS, onboarding/offboarding
✅ Comfortable with BambooHR (or similar), Notion, GSuite, Slack
✅ Strong written and spoken English communication skills
✅ Detail fanatic who can run with minimal hand-holding
Brownie points for:
⭐ Background in DTC/e-commerce or online brands
⭐ Familiarity with DISC or other personality frameworks
⭐ Experience building HR systems from scratch in a 20–50 person company
You’re equally a people-person and an operator: empathetic, patient, great at selling our vision - yet organized enough so that nobody has to chase you. You notice the small stuff, love improving processes, and can switch from friendly recruiter chat to compliance deep-dive without blinking.
