Summary
The job is for a Junior Backend Developer at Antarctica Global, a Mumbai-based climate tech company. The role involves building server-side applications using Node.js and collaborating with various teams. The ideal candidate has relevant experience and skills in JavaScript, Node.js, ExpressJS, OAuth, REST, JSON, Git, npm, yarn, Postman, user authentication and authorization, multiple data sources integration, server-side templating languages, relational databases, and functional or imperative programming languages.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency with JavaScript (and understanding the nature of asynchronous programming)
- 1+ years of experience using Node.js and frameworks available for it such as ExpressJS, etc
- Practical experience in building APIs including developing caching strategies
- Deep Understanding of OAuth, REST, and JSON concepts
- Practical experience with Git, npm, yarn, etc
- Expert understanding of POSTMAN
- User. authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
- Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
- Good understanding of server-side templating languages such as Pug, EJS, etc
- 2+ years of experience with relational databases like MySQL, MSSQL, Postgres (including schema design and writing efficient SQL Queries)
Responsibilities
- Design and develop server-side applications using Node.js
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
- Build scalable and high-performance RESTful APIs
- Optimize and maintain database connections, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval
- Implement security best practices to protect data and prevent security vulnerabilities
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of server applications
- Monitor server performance and make necessary optimizations to ensure optimal speed and efficiency
- Maintain and enhance code quality by adhering to best practices, coding standards, and code reviews
- Collaborate with DevOps and other teams to deploy applications and troubleshoot production issues
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continually improve and innovate our backend solutions
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more imperative or functional programming languages such as Javascript, ES6 or Typescrip. with a deep knowledge of Bootstrap
