Company Description
Welcome to the good side of tech 👋
You might have heard about us, but with a different name: Znanylekarz. It all started 10 years ago, when we asked ourselves: is anyone in healthcare thinking about patients? We jumped in and we empowered patients by giving them access to leave and read reviews about their visit. We then provided doctors with the technology to manage bookings easily and save time, so they could devote themselves to what they always wanted: treating patients. And today is the day in which we ask you: wanna join us in the next step of making the healthcare experience more human?
Docplanner at scale
We are leaders in 13 countries so far, and more than 90 million patients trust us every month. almost 300.000 specialists believe in us and our product, and so do leading venture capital funds such as Point Nine Capital, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, and One Peak Partners. And yet, employing over 2.700 people all over the globe, we managed to keep the startup mindset we started with over 10 years ago.
How does Docplanner Tech fit here?
At Docplanner Tech we are a diverse group of almost 400 people working in Engineering, Data, and Product teams. We are responsible for building the product for all locations. Many of us have been here for over 5 years, yet we still welcome each new person with great joy and excitement.
We could tell you about us, but we will let our reviews on Glassdoor speak for themselves. In case you’d like to see how it feels to be 100% yourself at work, here’s a video of us.
Job Description
Why this role matters
At Docplanner, data is at the core of everything we do to make the healthcare experience more humane. Our Data Platform Team is the backbone for all things data — serving analysts, engineers, and product teams with robust infrastructure, high-quality data pipelines, and modern tooling.
We’re looking for a Junior Data Engineer to join our team and support our growing platform operations. This role is an ideal entry point for someone who already knows the basics (Python, SQL, orchestration tools) and is eager to go deep into the world of data engineering, infrastructure management, automations and analytics.
What this role is really about
You’ll become a first responder for data platform issues — monitoring workflows, investigating failures, applying hotfixes, and learning how our systems work under the hood. It’s a hands-on role with high exposure to real-world problems. You’ll be mentored by our experienced data engineers and empowered to build your own tooling, write documentation and runbooks, and progressively automate away repetitive tasks.
This is not a support role — it’s a learning-focused engineering role with direct access to the entire stack and an intentional path toward becoming a full-fledged Data Engineer.
What you’ll be doing
Monitor and respond to data pipeline and infrastructure issues during working hours
Troubleshoot and fix issues in collaboration with the Data Engineering team
Write clear documentation and runbooks for recurring issues
Interact daily with other teams (analytics engineers, analysts, developers, platform engineers, product managers) to understand and resolve data problems
Contribute and lead to automation initiatives: is it worth solving the same problem twice?
Continuously expand your understanding of orchestration, data ingestion, data pipelines, and tooling across the platform
Help prepare the platform for smarter automation and AI-driven incident handling
Qualifications
What will help you thrive in this role
You already have some experience with Python and SQL (this is a must)
You’re familiar with GitHub and understand the basics of version control
You know/are curious about orchestration tools (like Airflow) and eager to learn how they work
You’re a strong communicator – you’re not afraid to ask for help, clarify requirements, or collaborate to fix a problem
You don’t like repetitive work — you instinctively look for ways to automate and improve things
You’re proactive: you don’t just solve the problem, you ask why it happened and how to prevent it next time
You’re eager to grow and see this role as an opportunity to deepen your expertise and expand your impact and career as an engineer.
An eye on the future: you’re excited by the idea of AI tools automating operational work, and you want to help us build toward that
Bonus points for…
Exposure to cloud environments (especially AWS)
Interest in DevOps tooling (Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes)
Location & Language Requirements
You must be based in Spain or Poland
You must have very good English communication skills, both spoken and written
