Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company (‘Versant’) comprised of most of NBCUniversal’s cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

Project Keystone will be a multi-year endeavor, driving NBCUniversal’s transformation goal of building a globally standardized, flexible, and data-driven business platform that enables NBCU to make better and faster decisions based on real time insights.

Our product and engineering teams will drive transformation of key Finance processes across Record-to-Report (RTR), Procure-to-Pay (PTP), Order-to-Cash (OTC), Treasury, Tax and FP&A. In additional, our engineering teams will play a key role in cross-functional workstreams like Transformation Management Office (TMO), master data governance, reporting, security, risk and controls and change management.

This Manager position will oversee the implementation, management, and optimization of SAP BTP solutions. The Manager will lead the OTC team and CAPM team of developers and architects to design, build, and deploy cloud-based applications utilizing BTP tools ensuring alignment with business objectives and best practices across the platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Work as a Manager to lead a team of SAP professionals (onsite and offshore) in designing, developing and implementing SAP solutions adhering to NBCU engineering standards
  • Work with the team of architects and onsite leads to improve SAP BTP engineering development strategy, architecture, and governance of application development and engineering related activities for NBCU
  • Manage team and work with product and other engineering teams to architect, design and evaluate different technical design options for custom development options keeping in mind industry best practices and NBCU development standards
  • Provide estimates for technical work effort when required and ensure high-quality and on-schedule deliverables
  • Design, develop, track and produce reports on complex technical project plans in line with overall PMO published build and development timelines
  • Take a lead role in maintaining and enforcing development standards, and providing architecture and design guidance to the development team
  • Manage relationships with Product Teams, Change Management, Testing and other Engineering teams like BASIS and SAP ABAP development team to identify opportunities for improvements or cost savings
  • Mentor and train application developers and other engineering team members keeping in mind NBCU’s Operations and Technology goals in mind to foster a high performing engineering team
  • Stay ahead with the latest SAP technologies and trends to provide recommendations for adoption and integration
  • This person will drive Innovation and Exploration in the SAP Engineering space at NBCU. They will encourage and support experimentation with new SAP technologies and tools. This involves setting aside dedicated time for team members to explore and prototype solutions, and organizing internal hackathons or knowledge-sharing sessions to ensure the team stays current and competitive
  • Responsible for contributing to integration solutions between SAP and non-SAP systems

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Education degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline with an information technology focus, or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
  • Experience as an Architect/Senior consultant with a total of 7+ years SAP integration (development) experience including 4+ years as a Team Lead and a minimum of 2+ years as a people manager. Working knowledge on various large-scale implementations.
  • Has independently managed and led a large development team engaged in SAP BTP including activities such as providing estimates, planning and managing execution as well as reporting of status of technical build activities including issues and risks
  • Deep knowledge of software development life cycle and release management cycle phases including the different testing life cycles.
  • Performed system monitoring tasks to ensure business continuity
  • Familiarity with change management procedures using cloud transport management
  • Experience in overseeing Cloud Connector configuration activities, including mappings for HTTP, RFC and TCP protocols. Understand connectivity principles and system performance considerations. Be able to describe topics such as high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and security best practices. Participate in establishing governance process for user access management and update processes. Maintain documentation of configurations, policies, and troubleshooting approaches.
  • Strong development skills in SAP BTP and its component tools and former SAP integration tools
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to assess performance, support in monitoring and tracing to make recommendations for improvements

Desired Characteristics:

  • Confirmed ability to be flexible and agile, both independently and in a team
  • Relevant SAP technical certification a plus
  • Has demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess interpersonal skills to engage and collaborate in a team environment
  • Experience in transformation projects e.g., from SAP ECC to S/4 HANA (S/4 Conversions, green field, brown field, blue field etc.)
  • Knowledge working with AEM, API management and Cloud ALM a plus
