Our client is a Queensland-based growth partner specialising in AI solutions, merchandise and creatives for businesses across Australia. They help businesses grow stronger, connect deeper and stand out utilising the latest cutting-edge technology, custom-branded products and design expertise.
As the business expands into the AI and digital space, they’re now looking for a highly experienced and proactive Merchandise Leader Specialist to join and lead their team in promotional merchandise.
Note: This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep industry knowledge in promotional merchandise, apparel, and decoration methods. The ideal candidate will manage product sourcing, quoting, supplier coordination, and client communication across multiple projects and timelines.
Job Responsibilities:
Act as the go-to expert for all things merchandise and decoration.
Identify suitable suppliers, products, and print methods for the client’s needs.
Manage end-to-end merchandise orders and timelines.
Communicate with suppliers and clients to ensure smooth order flow.
Collaborate with sales and design teams to prepare quotes and proofing.
Manage artwork, branding alignment, and prepare files for production.
Work with a range of established merchandise and apparel suppliers, while also identifying and recommending new partners as needed based on project requirements.
Coordinate project delivery, including kitting, packaging, approvals, and quality control.
Provide exceptional client service via email and phone calls.
Maintain client accounts, ensure file accuracy, and resolve service issues professionally.
Proven experience in merchandise, promotional products, or apparel.
Excellent communication skills and professional confidence on calls and emails.
Strong understanding of decoration methods, product sourcing, and quoting.
Project and time management skills to juggle multiple projects.
Familiarity with tools like Hoops, Xero, and other quoting/order platforms.
Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
A self-starter who works well independently and within a team.
Bonus Skills (nice to have):
Experience with graphic design (Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop).
Ability to prepare artwork for decoration and oversee client design feedback.
Experience managing or collaborating with a design team.
Previous work on sublimated apparel, branding, or product mockups.
