Job description
As a Staff Engineer at LendAPI, you will take full ownership of our platform’s architecture and development, shaping the technological foundation of our fintech solutions. You’ll work on building secure, scalable, and resilient platforms while mentoring team members and driving innovation. This is a leadership role for experienced engineers passionate about developing high-performance systems for the banking and financial industries.
What You Will Do:
Platform Ownership: Lead the architecture, design, and development of the cIient’s platform, ensuring its scalability, security, and reliability.
Technical Leadership: Guide best practices in software engineering, mentor the development team, and drive high-quality code standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, DevOps, and cross-functional teams to deliver features that align with LendAPI’s roadmap.
Integration Management: Lead integrations with major financial institutions and third-party providers, ensuring seamless data flows and user experiences.
Scalability & Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and optimize platform performance for high transaction volumes and data-intensive operations.
Security & Compliance: Ensure the platform adheres to financial regulations like PCI-DSS, SOC 2, and GDPR, and maintain robust security practices.
Innovation: Evaluate and implement new tools and frameworks to enhance platform capabilities and development efficiency.
10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on fintech or large-scale financial platforms.
Expertise in Python (Django, Celery) and modern frontend frameworks (React preferred).
Proven success in building scalable systems capable of handling thousands of requests per second and large datasets.
Strong understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and database optimization (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and DevOps tools like Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and compliance frameworks.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset for long-term platform growth.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with experience mentoring engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
You’ve built applications that can deal with 3000 requests per second and billions of rows.
Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, etc.) are a plus.
Skilled in DevOps automation and containerization with Docker; familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning is a strong plus.
Familiarity with machine learning models, data analytics, and AI-driven insights for financial services.
Work remotely Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week (no weekends)
Vacation: 10 business days a year
Holidays: 5 National Holidays a year
