MS 365 Migration Specialist

Location: Remote

Job Type: Full-Time, 40 hours/week

Schedule: Monday โ€“ Friday, during Eastern Time Business Hours Compensation: Competitive, based on experience

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced MS 365 Business Basic Migration Consultant to lead the migration from Google Drive and Skype to Microsoft 365 Business Basic (including all the other MS Application bundled in the Business Basic Subscription). The ideal candidate will have expertise in cloud migrations, data transfer, user adoption strategies, security compliance, and troubleshooting.

As we have already migrated our primary domain email server to Outlook and activated licenses, this role will focus on ensuring a seamless transition of file storage and communication tools while minimizing disruptions to our global team. The consultant will also provide ongoing support, training, and optimization post-migration.

This is a full-time position with a Mondayโ€“Friday schedule during Eastern Time business hours.

**### Key Responsibilities:**

**### Migration Execution & Technical Support**

**- Plan, execute, and oversee the migration of Google Drive (including Shared Drives) to OneDrive/SharePoint.** **- Transition Skype messaging accounts to Microsoft Teams, ensuring that chat history, contacts, and integrations are preserved where possible.** **- Optimize OneDrive/SharePoint folder structures, access controls, and sharing permissions for security and efficiency.** - Ensure data integrity, proper version control, and minimal downtime during migration. **- Provide real-time technical support during and after the migration process.**

**### User Training & Change Management**

**- Develop training materials, user guides, and FAQs to support smooth adoption of OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams.** **- Conduct live training sessions to educate users employees on new tools and best practices.** **- Address user concerns and support change management efforts to ensure high adoption rates.** - Collaborate with Operations and other Departments to ensure seamless integration of applications and business processes.

**### Security, Compliance & Best Practices**

**- Implement data security best practices, access control policies, and compliance measures for Microsoft 365.** **- Ensure that file permissions, sharing settings, and retention policies align with business needs and regulatory requirements.** **- Work closely with IT leadership to monitor security risks and enforce data protection policies.**

**### Ongoing Support & Optimization**

**- Provide post-migration support and troubleshooting to resolve issues efficiently.** **- Continuously assess and recommend improvements in Microsoft 365 collaboration tools.** **- Monitor system performance and optimize configurations for better efficiency.**

**### Documentation & Reporting**

**- Maintain comprehensive documentation of migration processes, troubleshooting steps, and best practices.** **- Provide regular progress reports to stakeholders on migration status, adoption rates, and any technical issues encountered.**

**### Qualifications & Requirements:**

**- Proven experience with Microsoft 365 Business Basic migrations (Google Drive to OneDrive/SharePoint and Skype to Teams).** **- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 Admin Center, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and PowerShell scripting for automation.** **- Experience in data migration tools such as Google Drive Migrator, ShareGate, or Mover.io.** **- Familiarity with user access management, security configurations, and compliance policies in Microsoft 365.** **- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot migration issues and provide end-user support.** **- Strong communication skills to train and support a diverse remote workforce.** **- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines.**

**### Preferred Qualifications:**

**- Microsoft 365 certification (e.g., MS-102: Microsoft 365 Administrator, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or similar).** **- Experience working with globally distributed teams in a remote environment.** **- Previous experience supporting staffing or recruitment agencies is a plus.**
