The Role We are currently seeking a dynamic Payments Solutions Manager to lead the onboarding and management of all fiat onramp and offramp payment service providers (PSPs) for our new business line. This role is critical to ensuring a secure, scalable and globally accessible payments infrastructure that supports digital asset transactions while meeting our high standards for compliance, efficiency and client experience.
As our Payment Solutions Manager, your key responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
Phase 1: Establishing Payment Operations
- Build and own the daily operations of the fiat payments function.
- Source, assess, and onboard PSPs (banks, e-wallets) globally for fiat onramps/offramps.
- Design and implement operational frameworks for payment processing, reconciliation, transaction monitoring and escalation handling.
- Lead cross-functional work with product, engineering, compliance and finance to design scalable and compliant fiat-payment flows.
- Hire and develop a high-performing payment operations team to support ongoing delivery, monitoring, and optimization of payment workflows.
- Integrate new payment rails and establish performance baselines and SLA agreements.
- Streamline operational workflows, automate manual tasks, and optimize transaction processing across all PSPs.
- Establish fraud and risk controls in collaboration with compliance and risk teams.
Phase 2: Strategic Payment Solutions Management
- Manage PSP relationships long term - reviewing performance, renegotiating commercials, and ensuring reliability and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor and analyze transaction data to identify trends, optimize routing strategies and drive cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with AML, KYC and regulatory frameworks across all payment flows and regions.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to enhance the user journey, including client support, product UX and engineering.
- Stay ahead of fintech payment trends, evaluating new technologies and providers to expand coverage and capabilities.
- Lead initiatives to implement local payment methods in key markets and improve global access to Pepperstone products.
- Report KPIs to senior leadership, using insights to continuously refine payment strategy and performance.
About you
- 5 years’ experience in payments including digital payments experience and/or working with a payment technology company.
- Experience in a start-up environment (preferred).
- Experience being part of a product build from zero to one.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Finance or Business/Commerce (preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with and influence technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake business analysis within an Agile environment with experience in requirement elicitation, gathering, documentation and management.
- Understanding of agile methods and processes.
- Strong analytical mindset.
- SQL proficiency (preferred).
- Assisting teams and individuals to collaborate and coordinate their efforts.
- Exceptional organisational skills.
- Ability to manage projects, business initiatives end-to-end.
- Ability to adapt and work within a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Flexibility to work across time zones as required.
