Position Summary

The People Operations Business Partner supports the Manager of People Operations and their team in developing and executing strategies that fosters strong manager support.ย  This position is a key role responsible for organizing and leading weekly and/or monthly meetings with HR and managers. In this role the POBP communicates leadership goals and supports managers. The POBP strengthens relationships between HR and managers across all business units.

Keyย  responsibilities include partnering with business leaders to develop and implement strategies that support organizational goals focusing on areas such as workforce planning, employee development, change management, employee relations, manager support for compliance with training, onboarding, while ensuring managers are in alignment with Navaสผs mission and values.ย  The POBPย  will drive and manage a portfolio of cross functional HR projects that align with growth goals. This role will focus on designing, leading, and executing strategic initiatives across the employee lifecycle, including talent development, change management, organizational design, and HR process optimization. Through strategic partnership, the POBP acts as a bridge between the HR department and business units, ensuring HR initiatives are effective, systems are designed to scale within a rapidly growing organization, and processes are well documented and contribute to the overall success of the company.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Lead and deliver HR related projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic business objectives.
  • Facilitate cross functional collaboration between business units, HR, finance, legal and IT to ensure smooth implementation and adoption of programs that drive employee engagement.
  • Create and maintain project plans, timelines, stakeholder, communications, and status reports.
  • Support change management efforts, including communication planning, training, and adoption strategies.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Assists in providing guidance to supervisors and managers on employee development, skills, and competencies, ensuring adherence to contractual and legal guidelines.
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
  • May act as a mediator between employees, and managers.
  • Proactively responds to employees’ policy questions.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation to managers.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit needs, workforce planning and succession planning. Follow up with managers with employees at risk.
  • Assists with executing onboarding training.ย Assists managers to improve the employee experience.

Required skills

  • 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a project management role
  • Strong project management skills, ideally with formal training ( e.g., PMP, Agile, Lean)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, large-scale projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Thorough knowledge of people operations and human resources principles and applicable federal and state regulations
  • Strong competency with HRIS systemsAbility to work independently with little supervision
  • Extraordinary discretion, confidentiality, flexibility, and willingness to work closely with a cross-functional team
  • Proficiency in GSuite, Slack, Zoom, Excel, Apple computers, and other tools used to support a remote-work environment
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and in a team environment

$114,300 - $127,000 a year

Other requirements

All roles at Nava require the following:

Legal authorization to work in the United States

Ability to meet any other requirements for government contracts for which candidates are hired

Work authorization that doesnโ€™t require visa sponsorship, now or in the future

May be subject to a government background check or security clearance, depending on the contract
