Power BI Administrator

Location: LatAm, Remote.

Position type: 9 months contract (+ possibility of extension)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Administrator to manage and maintain the Power BI environment of one of our customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, stability, security, and scalability of the Power BI platform. This role involves installation, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and user support, while also ensuring compliance with industry’s best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain Power BI Service, Power BI Report Server, and related environments.

  • Perform installation, configuration, and upgrades of Power BI components.

  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize dashboards and reports for efficiency.

  • Manage Power BI workspaces, user roles, permissions, and authentication settings.

  • Implement and enforce best practices for report development, scheduling, and execution.

  • Provide technical support to end users, ensuring seamless report execution.

  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate Power BI with enterprise systems such as databases, cloud services, and data warehouses.

  • Perform regular system health checks, backups, and disaster recovery planning.

  • Maintain and enhance security policies, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.

  • Document configurations, processes, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices.

  • Attend to customer requests and provide timely responses and solutions within the defined Service Level Agreement (SLA).

  • Be available after hours and on weekends to perform upgrades and maintenance tasks without affecting business users.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Advanced English skills

  • ​​​​​ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Power BI Administrator or a similar role.

  • Strong expertise in Power BI Service administration, including installation, upgrades, and maintenance.

  • Experience with Power BI Desktop and report optimization.

  • Proficiency in managing Power BI workspaces, scheduling, and user access control.

  • Solid understanding of database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, etc.) and data integration.

  • Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or SQL for automation and optimization.

  • Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and integrating Power BI with cloud-based data sources.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.

  • Excellent English and Spanish communication and collaboration skills to support end-users and work with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Power BI Certification (PL-300 or equivalent).

  • Experience with ITIL-based service management frameworks.

  • Familiarity with API integration and Power BI connectors.

  • Experience administering other enterprise analytic tools such as Alteryx.

  • Experience with Snowflake administration.
