Job description
About Qventus
Qventus is the leader in AI-powered automation for care operations. We partner with health systems to solve some of their most pressing challenges—creating surgical capacity, increasing access, reducing avoidable days, and growing strategic service lines—through intelligent automation and decision support. Our platform integrates directly into EHRs like Epic and powers real-time, high-impact actions for staff and leaders alike.
Across the country, Qventus is helping systems like Tenet, Ardent, Northwestern, IU, Banner, etc achieve 10.7x ROI, unlock 30%+ robotic growth, and add 3+ strategic cases per OR per month. But these outcomes are just the beginning. We’re building a new way for healthcare to work—one where AI assistants serve every role in the hospital, and strategy is directly translated into day-to-day operations.
To help lead this transformation, we’re hiring a Managing Director of Strategic Solutions to help define the future of surgery, one partnership at a time.
Role Overview
This is not a traditional sales or product role. It’s a high-leverage, cross-functional leadership position designed to amplify the work of the Chief Medical Officer and the Enterprise Sales team. As Managing Director of Strategic Solutions, you will serve as an operational, clinical, strategic, and technical “athlete”—someone who can stretch across a wide range of priorities, connect teams, and solve problems that matter.
You’ll partner with executive teams at leading health systems to co-create strategic initiatives, accelerate adoption of our AI platform, and demonstrate how Qventus uniquely solves problems that no other vendor or EMR can. You’ll guide our most critical commercial opportunities, shape narratives that resonate with stakeholders from the boardroom to the bedside, and build confidence in making bold decisions.
At the same time, you’ll work closely with Product to design and prioritize the next generation of AI solutions—ones that help surgical teams improve access, reduce cancellations, grow robotics, and optimize operations without adding manual effort. This role sits at the intersection of external partnership and internal innovation—and is uniquely positioned to shape the future of Qventus and the field.
What You’ll Do
1. Architect Strategic Partnerships
Engage directly with CMOs, COOs, CFOs, CMIOs, perioperative leaders, and IT stakeholders to diagnose current-state barriers and define future-state visions.
Co-create business cases and solution architectures that integrate seamlessly into local workflows while aligning to system-wide priorities like growth, margin recovery, and standardization.
Navigate organizational complexity—budgeting cycles, IT governance, clinical operations, and politics—to accelerate adoption and build trust across stakeholder groups.
2. Act as a Strategic Athlete for the Organization
Provide leverage to the Chief Medical Officer and Area VPs by stepping into critical customer conversations and projects that shape the direction of our partnerships and revenue growth.
Operate fluidly across teams—Sales, Product, Marketing, Engineering, Clinical Strategy—serving as the connective tissue that ensures we’re aligned around solving real customer problems.
Drive clarity in ambiguous situations. Create structure where others see complexity. Move initiatives forward when they might otherwise stall.
3. Shape the Next Generation of AI Solutions
Serve as a core partner to Product in defining and refining our roadmap for surgical care transformation. Bring real-world insight into design discussions to ensure solutions resonate with end users and deliver on our strategic goals.
Inform product requirements based on discovery with clinical and operational stakeholders. Connect problems to workflows, workflows to data, and data to action.
Help develop, pilot, and iterate on new AI-powered assistants for surgery—such as those that optimize block utilization, streamline scheduling, enable patient prep, or grow targeted service lines.
4. Collaborate with Marketing on Messaging, Demand, and Brand
Work with Marketing to shape differentiated positioning that elevates Qventus above the noise of point solutions, dashboards, and EMR add-ons.
Influence the creation of collateral, thought leadership, and campaigns that generate demand, educate the market, and empower the field team.
Represent Qventus in external forums and serve as a visible expert in AI transformation of perioperative care.
5. Accelerate Multi-Stakeholder Decision-Making in Complex Systems
Translate between strategy and action—helping external teams understand not just what we do, but how they can drive change across finance, operations, IT, and clinical governance.
Help systems move faster by showing them what’s required to build confidence, mitigate risk, and align incentives.
Position urgency without fear—showing how the cost of inaction (cancellations, burnout, missed growth) is greater than the risk of innovation.
Ideal Background
We’re looking for a unique blend of strategic, clinical, and technical experience. You might be:
A former health system leader (e.g., VP or Director of a strategic service lines, perioperative services, transformation, strategy, or innovation at a leading health system) who’s led complex cross-functional change and understands the nuance of hospital operations.
A healthcare consultant (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Deloitte) who has driven initiatives in surgical service line growth, operational redesign, AI adoption, or EHR optimization.
A clinician-MBA hybrid (e.g., MD, DO, RN, CRNA, PA + G7 MBA) who combines clinical credibility with business and technical fluency, and is passionate about scaling innovation that makes a difference.
Qualifications
Required
7+ years of experience in healthcare strategy, clinical operations, digital health, or perioperative leadership
Deep understanding of surgical workflows, block scheduling, patient access, and operational KPIs
Exceptional communication and executive presence; confident working with senior hospital leadership
Fluency in health IT environments—especially Epic OpTime, Cadence, Radiant—and familiarity with data integration and workflow automation
Comfort working in ambiguity, leading complex initiatives, and bridging cross-functional perspectives
Preferred
Experience with AI, machine learning, or clinical decision support tools
Background in B2B healthcare SaaS, enterprise software, or product strategy
Exposure to the commercial or go-to-market side of high-growth startups
Experience with consultative sales, executive facilitation, and/or product demoing
