Join PERSUIT as a Product Designer (Contract)
PERSUIT is a fast-growing legal tech scale-up transforming how legal teams engage with outside counsel. We believe great design is at the heart of building elegant, impactful, and efficient user experiences, and we’re looking for a talented Product Designer to join our growing design team.
This is a 6-month parental leave contract with the potential to transition into a full-time permanent role.
About the Role
You’ll join a passionate design department committed to shaping a platform that delivers real impact for some of the world’s top in-house legal teams. As a Product Designer at PERSUIT, you will:
- Work end-to-end across discovery, ideation, and delivery
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers in a cross-functional squad to deliver impactful product experiences and dev-ready design assets.
- Contribute to innovation and early-stage discovery projects
- Facilitate design workshops, user research sessions, and validation activities
- Support our Design Ops practice by contributing to key initiatives and collaborating closely with the team
- Help maintain and evolve our design system
- Advocate for best-in-class design thinking across the organisation
- Proficient with Figma, JIRA, and other standard product design and prototyping tools
Depending on the project, you might spend one week immersed in user research and strategy, and the next embedded in a team delivering final UI for an MVP.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a strong generalist designer with great product instincts and the ability to move confidently across the design process. Someone who enjoys solving complex problems and understands how to bring clarity to ambiguity.
You should have:
- 5+ years of experience as a product designer
- Experience designing across the full product lifecycle, from discovery to delivery
- A strong portfolio showcasing product design work, especially for complex workflows
- A good eye for design and sound judgment in applying design best practices
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
- Experience working in agile environments as part of a product trio
- Results-oriented mindset, with a focus on delivering impact over perfection
- Adaptability and pragmatism to thrive in a fast-moving startup environment
- Bonus points if you have experience working asynchronously with global teams.
Location & Workstyle
This role is fully remote in Australia. If you’re based in Melbourne, we also offer a hybrid work option with access to a premium co-working space in the CBD.
You’ll be collaborating with a distributed team across US East and West Coast, and Melbourne time zones, so flexibility and great async communication are important.
