About the Team:

Operations Engineering at DCS encompasses Project and Mechanical Engineers that perform all engineering activities from receipt of contract through commissioning and close-out of a project.  We pride ourselves on creativity, problem-solving, solid engineering techniques, and getting stuff done.

About the Role:

As a Project Engineer, you’ll manage all aspects of engineering on a project, nuts to bolts. And when your projects call for it, you’ll lead and mentor other members of our Engineering and Purchasing teams. You will periodically take an active role in person when working with customers during design.  We’ll appreciate your creative, solutions-oriented approach, your solid technical know-how, your impressive teamwork skills, and the way we can count on you to get things done - and get them done well. Sound like you? In this role, you will…

  • Participate as a member of a project team comprised of PM, Buyers, Customer Service, & others in order to successfully complete conveyor & material handling projects.
  • Own and manage all engineering-related tasks on a project, including maintainingengineering schedules, budgets, & tracking engineering change orders.
  • Support in person meetings with customers or vendors near the DCS office (Franklin, TN) and occasionally in a customer’s office or job site
  • Interact with customers, vendors, and other suppliers to review & evaluate system & equipment designs.
  • Provide technical guidance during detailed design to best industry standards
  • Perform engineering design evaluations and work to complete projects with direction from Project Team Lead.
  • Review customer specifications to confirm adherence to these during design process.
  • Provide technical support for the engineering process.
  • Use AutoCAD and/or other drafting tools to complete system & detailed design drawings.
  • Check drawings produced by others for accuracy.
  • Work a hybrid office schedule with an average of three days per week in the DCS office (Franklin, TN).

We’re excited about you because…

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related area.
  • You are proficient in AutoCad; working knowledge of Inventor or other is a plus.
  • You have 4+ years of MHE execution design experience [with a focus on Amazon]
  • You are familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within engineering, particularly in the material handling industry.
  • You excel in collaborative in person environment as well as a remote setting, and are excited to be a part of our local team of experts
  • You can apply some degree of creativity and latitude to solve problems.
  • You are able to accept project tasks with minimal direction, understanding delivery is based on project timelines.
  • You have experience in leading, mentoring, or managing other team members.
  • You work hard, you work well with others, and you’ve got a positive attitude
