Sales & Business Development Lead – Utilities & Enterprise Tech (Remote)
Location: Remote (U.S.-based) with frequent travel
Compensation: $125,000–$150,000 DOE + Commission

About the Role
We’re looking for a strategic and results-driven Sales & Business Development Lead to drive growth in the electric, water, and gas utility sectors. This senior-level role is ideal for someone with deep domain expertise in enterprise systems (SAP, Oracle, Maximo, etc.) and a passion for digital transformation.
You’ll lead go-to-market strategy, build trusted client relationships, and collaborate with technical teams to deliver tailored solutions that improve operational efficiency and asset performance.
What You’ll Do
🧭 Strategic Market Development
- Develop and execute go-to-market plans by utility type, size, and geography.
- Align business development efforts with corporate growth goals.
🤝 Client Relationship Management
- Build long-term relationships with utility executives (CIOs, COOs, VPs).
- Facilitate executive briefings, workshops, and strategy sessions.
📈 Sales Pipeline & Opportunity Management
- Generate leads through networking, events, and referrals.
- Conduct discovery sessions and manage CRM pipeline metrics.
- Lead post-sale follow-up and ensure client satisfaction.
💡 Solution Selling & Technical Collaboration
- Translate complex solutions into business value propositions.
- Collaborate with SMEs and architects to develop demos and POCs.
📝 Proposal & RFP Development
- Lead RFP/RFI responses and proposal creation.
- Coordinate cross-functional input and craft compelling narratives.
🌐 Partner & Ecosystem Engagement
- Build alliances with platform providers (SAP, Oracle, IBM) and niche vendors.
- Identify joint pursuits and co-marketing opportunities.
🔍 Market Intelligence
- Monitor trends like AI/ML, cloud migration, and digital twins.
- Conduct competitive analysis to refine positioning and pricing.
💼 Revenue Accountability
- Own quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Develop territory plans and accurate forecasts.
✈️ Travel & Industry Engagement
- Travel to client sites and industry events (e.g., DistribuTECH, MaximoWorld).
- Represent Celerity at conferences and association meetings.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- 7+ years in B2B sales, business development, or consulting in tech or utilities.
- Strong understanding of enterprise platforms (SAP, Oracle, Maximo, etc.).
- Proven ability to engage with utility executives and technical stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently across North America.
Preferred:
- Experience with digital transformation, cloud, or analytics in utilities.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and asset lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of FSM tools (OverIT, ClickSoftware, ServiceNow FSM).
- Experience with public power, IOUs, or cooperative utilities.
