Scrum Master - Contract

The Scrum Master role will be a Contract. In this role, you will act as a servant leader and coach Agile teams, helping them navigate the complexities of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and ensuring successful delivery of features and projects.

The ideal candidate is tactful and passionate about helping others. This person will lead by example and coach the team in the application of Agile and Scrum principles to enhance productivity, efficiency, and collaboration. The ideal Scrum Master has a comprehensive understanding of SAFe/Agile methodology and its guiding principles. The SAFe Scrum Master serves as a servant leader and is committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement working closely with Product Owners, Release Train Engineers and other stakeholders to support the teams

Key Responsibilities

Scrum/SAFe Implementation:

  • Lead/Coach the implementation and understanding of the Scrum/Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) across teams and departments.
  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (PI Planning, ART Sync, Daily Stand-up/Team Sync, Sprint/Iteration Planning, Review, and Retrospective) to ensure communication and alignment across the team.
  • Promote and support the continuous improvement of the team’s processes.
  • Work closely with Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and teams to ensure alignment with SAFe principles.

Team Collaboration:

  • Foster collaboration and communication among cross-functional teams, encouraging a culture of transparency and open communication.
  • Support the resolution of impediments and blockers to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Manage team dependencies by working with other Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and stakeholders to identify and to ensure smooth delivery of features and capabilities.
  • Define and track key Agile metrics to measure team performance and project success.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 2+ years experience as a Scrum Master in Agile environments
  • Strong knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Agile tools and practices (Azure DevOps, Jira)
  • SAFe Scrum Master certification (SSM) or equivalent a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong facilitation and coaching skills, with the ability to guide teams through complex situations.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to address challenges and conflicts effectively.
  • Data and Analytics experience a plus
  • Healthcare experience a plus

Work Environment:

  • Remote work from home.
  • Hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday. Specific business hours will depend on client needs.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • The person in this position must occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, library stacks, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with clients and coworkers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
