Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company (‘SpinCo’) comprised of most of NBCUniversal’s cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

Fandango is seeking a versatile Sr. Ad Attribution Engineer (API Engineer) to join our team. This role will be responsible for architecting and implementing conversion API (CAPI) solutions that transmit first-party transaction and conversion data from the Fandango network of properties’ websites, mobile apps, and CTV platforms to advertising networks, including Meta, Snapchat, TikTok, Roku, TheTradeDesk, DV360, and others. You will leverage our big data expertise to build scalable, secure, and compliant advertising attribution solutions. This role requires expertise in first-party data handling, event deduplication, privacy-compliant data transmission, and performance optimization. You will collaborate closely with data engineering, marketing analytics, and platform integration teams to ensure robust, scalable, and privacy-centric tracking solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Ad Tech Innovation & Conversion Tracking:
    • Develop high-performance conversion APIs to capture and process key ad campaign data.
    • Manage pixel/tag deployments on both client and server sides to ensure accurate tracking, attribution, and seamless third‑party integration.
    • Develop server to server pipelines to Meta CAPI, TikTok Events API, Google Ads API, TheTradeDesk API, Roku, etc.
  • Real-Time Data Processing & Scalability:
    • Design and optimize systems to handle millions of attribution requests with low latency and high reliability at peak times.
    • Leverage big data insights to continuously improve performance and drive campaign success.
    • Familiarity with Identity resolution strategies (Unified ID 2.0, LiveRamp, HEM).
  • Full-Stack Development & Integration:
    • Design, develop, test, review, and maintain customer‑facing web applications.
    • Build RESTful APIs and manage database interactions for seamless integration with internal systems and external ad tech partners.
  • Collaboration, Leadership, & Communication:
    • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to turn business requirements into technical solutions.
    • Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative, innovative environment.
  • Compliance, Security, & Monitoring:
    • Ensure systems meet data privacy standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, VPPA, iOS) and follow robust security practices (e.g., OneTrust, Individual Rights requests, MFA, Cognito integration).
    • Deploy proactive monitoring and support to quickly diagnose and resolve issues, ensuring uptime and reliability.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a software engineer working in a full-stack capacity with an emphasis on ad attribution
  • Experience with Serverless REST API development (AWS Lambda, Cognito, API Gateway)
  • Experience with Batch job development and coordination (AWS Batch, Step Functions)
  • Experience with Data Lake / Elastic Search / Database Technologies · Experience working with event-driven architecture (Kafka, Kinesis, SQS, RabbitMQ, etc.)
  • A deep understanding of current web software design patterns, and principles, and event driven architecture
  • Expert level proficiency with JavaScript, ES6, and Node.js
  • Working knowledge of common networking, infrastructure, and technical security fundamentals
  • Experience developing user-facing applications
  • Experience with Git and source code control management and branching strategies
  • Experience working in an agile/Scrum environment ·
  • Additional Desired Qualifications: Design, develop, test, review, and maintain customer‑facing web applications.
  • Experience with Angular OR with other modern front-end frameworks/libraries such as React/Redux, Vue.js, Polymer, etc. and a willingness to learn Angular
  • Familiarity with test driven and behavioral driven development practices
  • Familiarity with front end workflow/build system and productivity tools such as Grunt, Gulp, Webpack, Next.js, etc.
  • AWS certifications
