We in IT are delivering value to our business and our customers with the innovative solutions that enable our business to better serve our customers today and in the future. We recognise that technology and data are at the forefront of this.
Our Global IT team deliver a portfolio of transformative work, expand our digital options, upgrade and future-proof our systems to place us at the forefront of the marketplace.
To do this, we need talented and creative people across all areas to join us in delivering our evolution to enable our forward-thinking business over the next few years and beyond, and this is where you come in…
About the role:
We’re looking for a proactive and technically fluent Senior Business Analyst to join our growing Experience team. This is a high-impact role working predominantly in ourSale domain, delivering key strategic initiatives that will transform our customer payment experience across digital and branch channels.
You’ll be joining at a critical point – mid-flight in a large-scale programme to replace legacy systems with critical new payment systems. We need someone who can hit the ground running, navigate complexity and build bridges between stakeholders, business needs and technical delivery.
What you’ll be doing:
- Own and drive the analysis across a technical payments project – facilitating the integration of new payment providers using APIs across both digital and in-branch environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams – including Engineering, Architecture, Delivery, QA and business teams – to elicit, challenge and refine requirements.
- Write clear, solution-agnostic user stories in Confluence and JIRA that development and QA teams can act on.
- Perform detailed requirements engineering – from stakeholder interviews through to validation, breakdown and documentation.
- Lead and facilitate impact assessments and support cost-benefit analysis to help shape our change portfolio.
- Manage stakeholder relationships across the board – from Finance, Application Support, Business Experts and senior leadership – keeping everyone aligned and informed.
- Support coaching and mentoring of junior BAs across the Experience team.
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience as a Senior BA in complex environments, ideally within payments, retail or wholesale domains.
- Strong technical understanding of APIs – able to confidently engage with engineering and architecture teams, with a solid grasp of how APIs function (e.g., POST, PUT, DELETE methods).
- Skilled in writing effective user stories, managing backlogs and using JIRA and Confluence.
- Adept in requirements engineering – analysing, validating and translating business needs into clear deliverables.
- Comfortable picking up a project mid-flight and working independently to drive it forward.
- Experience with legacy system integration, ideally including Workday Finance or similar ERP platforms.
- Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence – able to hold your own in challenging stakeholder environments.
