Choreo is seeking a Senior Director of Data Analytics as a leader on the Technology team reporting to the Chief Information Officer. This role will lead data-driven decision-making and strategic thought leadership with both internal and external stakeholders. By leveraging your vast knowledge in data analytics, you will provide strategic recommendations that influence key business decisions. This role will bridge collaborations between multiple departments and our analytics team, ensuring our firm’s needs are met with innovative and effective solutions.
The Senior Director of Data Analytics will be a key member of the Technology leadership team and will be a trusted advisor to senior leadership by delivering actionable insights and enabling the Firm’s strategies with data that will drive profitable growth. The Senior Director will partner with the Chief Information Officer, Senior Director of Information Security and Managing Director of Platform Technology on a day-to-day basis.
This role will be responsible for leading an analytics team to define a formal data governance program, architecture deliverables, success criteria, performance measurements, and operational processes that will be critical to successful delivery. The Senior Director will cultivate a culture of growth, mentorship, and excellence within the team while ultimately making a significant impact on Choreo’s financial targets. They will be responsible for data governance, operations, accuracy, and quality assurance processes, and must ensure the data within our Azure environment is secure and corporate data in the SQL data warehouse remains up to date with automated feeds from multiple source systems.
A successful candidate will have the ability to transform data into insights, collaborate as part of an analytics center of excellence, exchange knowledge, and be a rigorous critical thinker with a unique combination of proactiveness, curiosity, and business acumen.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of BI/ETL developers responsible for the design, development, and delivery of intuitive, engaging, and informative reporting data visualization assets
- Design, develop, deliver, and maintain data architecture assets, governance plan, deliverables, and documentation
- Stay current on all upcoming features and capabilities of relevant technology solutions including Microsoft Fabric, SQL databases, Copilot and PowerBI reports
- Provide detailed documentation including process guidance, training, and solution descriptions to departmental and technical stakeholders
- Lead efforts to conduct requirements analysis, document technical specifications, and helps write, review, and debug ETL and PowerBI code
- Recommend revisions or enhancements to available reports based on user feedback
- Develop and maintain documentation, conduct training, and build user manuals for reporting solutions.
- Provides support in the event of problems related to reporting results, data accuracy, and troubleshooting issues that arise with data warehouse processes
Technical Requirements:
- 10+ years experience designing developing business intelligence solutions using PowerBI or similar tools
- 10+ years experience architecting various data models, including relational and star schema
- 10+ years experience implementing various semantic models, including Tabular, Multidimensional, Security Models, Dimensional Structures, and hierarchies
- 10+ years experience developing queries and stored procedures using T-SQL, Python, and Data Analysis Expressions (DAX)
- Experience developing ETL solutions utilizing SSIS, Azure Fabric, Data Factory, or other enterprise platforms
- Experience in utilizing Azure DevOps or TFS for issue tracking and Github for code versioning
- Experience with Microsoft’s Technology Ecosystem (Azure, Dynamics365, Office365, Copilot, and Power platforms)
- Experience designing and developing solutions using Visual Studio\SSDT\DAX Studio\Tabular Editor
- Skilled in preparing and delivering documentation such as, but not limited to, business and functional requirements, data flow, logical, and physical diagrams
Basic Qualifications:
- Undergraduate Degree, preferably in Computer Science (CS), Management Information Systems (MIS), or another Information Technology related field of study
- Minimum of 10 years in a corporate environment designing, developing and supporting enterprise information assets, with 3 years of experience in Financial Services/Wealth Management preferred
- Strong analytical skills and experience with the SDLC methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile.
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills amongst key stakeholders
- Ability to work efficiently, effectively, and independently as well as in a team environment to see projects through to conclusion
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and assignments with the ability to float between multiple projects
- Adheres to industry best practices, quality, standards, framework, and approach for designing and deployment of enterprise digital and reporting assets
Expected annual salary ranges from $150,000 to $180,000 plus incentive compensation. Salary is negotiable based on location, experience, and qualifications.
