About the team & opportunity

Ontra is seeking a Senior Employer Brand Specialist to join our Employee Experience (EX) team. The EX team is on a mission to elevate the employee journey. We help curate an inclusive workplace where innovation thrives and individuals grow personally and professionally. By curating experiences, supporting retention efforts, and championing belonging, we’re setting the standard in our industry and making work feel like anything but.

As a member of the EX team, you’ll collaborate on initiatives across various workstreams, including Internal Communication Strategy, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, and Internal Events & Team Gatherings, to ensure our employer brand is integrated into all aspects of the employee experience. You will be responsible for developing innovative strategies that position Ontra as an employer of choice, enhancing our reputation in the market, and fostering a strong sense of pride and advocacy among our employees.

Ontra is a remote-first company, offering employees the flexibility to work from where they are most effective. However, this role will require the ability to travel approximately 3-4 times per quarter for team meetings, content creation trips, or company events.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to influence how the world perceives Ontra as an employer. This involves developing and managing key workstreams such as our EVP, social media presence, internal communications, employee advocacy programs, and career site content. You will empower our employees to share their authentic experiences, creating compelling content that resonates with both internal and external audiences.

What you’ll do

  • Employer Brand Strategy & Execution: Drive the development and execution of a comprehensive employer brand strategy, including the creation of personas and implementation of our new EVP, through strategic content initiatives and an employee advocacy program, to promote Ontra’s culture and values and attract top talent
  • Lead Programs: Under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Employee Experience, support and drive key programs in talent acquisition, internal communications strategies, DEIB, and brand initiatives. This includes developing and executing internal communication plans to foster employee engagement and advocacy.
  • Employee Engagement and Communications: Drive employee engagement through strategic internal communications. This includes developing content, managing channels, and facilitating feedback mechanisms to ensure employees are informed, connected, and aligned with Ontra’s mission and values. Support talent acquisition, DEIB, and brand initiatives with effective internal messaging.
  • Initiative Development: Implement tailored, data-driven initiatives to strengthen our employer brand across all stages of the employee journey. This includes identifying key touchpoints, developing targeted messaging and content.
  • Content Strategy: Develop long-term content plans for ongoing branding strategies such as heritage months and employer awards and support the development of SLAs for brand posts.*

What you’ll bring

  • Employer Brand expertise: A minimum of 3+ years of experience in creating and implementing successful employer brand strategies. Knowledge of online marketing strategies and channels, including social media.
  • Content creation: Proficient in creating engaging content across various formats, including writing, visual storytelling (photography and videography), and editing, with the ability to adapt content for different platforms and audiences
  • Flexibility: Ability to think out-of-the-box, test boundaries, and ask thought-provoking questions to build appropriate strategies and communications that align with business objectives.
  • Travel: Ability and flexibility to attend company offsites/retreats for content-related activities. Estimated at 2-3 times per quarter, sometimes more.
  • Project management: Proven experience managing projects from initiation to completion and collaborating with diverse stakeholders
  • Technical acumen: Proficiency with project management and design tools (e.g., Asana, Canva, Slack) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel - intermediate proficiency) and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram).
  • Ownership mentality: Assumes an ownership mentality and can independently drive on projects while also handling change and conflicting priorities as business needs adjust.
  • Data-focused: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven and research-oriented mindset, including the ability to analyze ROI.
  • Teamwork-oriented: Exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels.

Pay Transparency Ontra takes individual candidate location, experience, and skills into consideration when determining compensation. The base pay range is listed below. Additionally, all positions are eligible for unit-based equity grants.

Some positions may be eligible for additional compensation, such as commission or other variable compensation structures, which is not included in the below base pay range.

$104,200—$145,900 USD
