Overview
We are looking for a Senior Engineering Lead in Uruguay who will be deeply embedded in client engagements—writing code, architecting scalable solutions, and directly coaching teams to navigate complex technical and business challenges. This role is highly hands-on, requiring you to not only lead but also actively contribute to project development, ensuring high-quality execution that meets client needs. You’ll work closely with clients to shape technical strategies, mentor engineers and engineering leads to align with evolving requirements, and play a critical role in identifying opportunities to expand and deliver impactful solutions.
You will work closely with our clients, lead cross-functional teams, and play a key role in shaping our technical strategy—particularly in Flutter and full-stack solutions. Client-Focused Engineering Execution
- Build Excellent Software Products – As a technical leader, you will be responsible for the success of your projects. You will be required to write high-quality code, lead program estimations, ideate impactful solutions for our clients and resolve any challenges that might arise during the lifecycle of a program.
- Drive Technical Excellence – Architect scalable and maintainable Flutter applications, and potentially cloud solutions, following and documenting industry and VGV best practices.
- Consult & Advise Clients – Act as a senior trusted advisor, helping clients make key technical decisions and ensuring successful project execution.

Responsibilities
- Success Of Your Programs– Engineering Leaders play a fundamental role in the success and reputation of VGV in the market. Delivering success for our clients is the most critical thing we can do as leaders.
- Success Of Your Team– Developing a high-performing engineering team is crucial for VGV. You will be responsible for helping our team become great technical consultants, and how to always deliver value for our clients.
- Operational Excellence – Support and oversee the Engineering business performance, as well as defining and managing bench activities when our consultants are not assigned to a program.
- Refinement & Vision Of Our Engineering Processes – Optimize our delivery approach to deliver faster and better results for our partners.
Requirements
- Excellent communication in English, both written and spoken (C1 level or above).
- 10+ years of software development experience, with a strong track record in mobile (Flutter preferred) and full-stack development.
- 4+ years in a technical leadership role, leading teams, mentoring other leaders and engineers, and driving architectural decisions.
- Experience in a consulting or client-facing role, demonstrating the ability to advise stakeholders, scope projects, and navigate business challenges.
- Pre-sales or business development exposure, such as assisting in technical proposals, engaging in discovery calls, or helping to secure new work.
- Cloud expertise (preferred but not required) – Experience with Google Cloud, AWS, Firebase, or Azure to complement front-end projects.
