Job Description
Business Area (BA) Markets role in Vattenfall is to maximize the value of the overall portfolio by optimizing and dispatching, hedging and sourcing for Vattenfall’s sales and generation volumes. We serve as Vattenfall’s single access to energy commodity markets and trade electricity, emissions, fuels, freight, and renewable certificates. We employ around 500 professionals who are active across Europe with offices in Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
In BA Markets the mission of the Unit OU Operations is to drive the digital transformation. OU Operations consists of diverse and highly skilled employees from more than 20 countries. We work internationally from our locations in Stockholm, Hamburg and Amsterdam.

What will you do?
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Develop, support, and continuously improve world class software solutions for algorithmic trading together with algorithmic traders, developers, and data scientists in a fast moving agile working environment
- Work in the area of system availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning (on-premise, cloud, and co-location) -> you contribute to “site reliability engineering”
- Focus on the user interface, drive the development of our algo monitoring UI as member of the UI squad in the agile team
- Gain broad exposure to both technical and business aspects of trading
- Adhere to and further develop the company’s algorithmic trading software development standards and best practices, incl. documentation, testing, and peer review

Qualifications

Are you a self-starter with dedication for building and managing infrastructure as a robust and reliable foundation for our algorithmic trading? Do you like to work in a dynamic trading environment closely together with the front office? Do you want to contribute to successful algorithmic trading activities by permanently monitoring and optimizing the performance? You embrace to cooperate with software development teams? In that case this job could be the right one for you.
As our Software Full-stack Engineer you will bring:
- Proven programming skills and experience in C#/.NET
- Solid backend system implementation experience, good experience with Linux
- Experience in CI/CD and automated deployment (ideally Azure DevOps, Terraform, pipelines)
- Experience in working with Blazor (Blazor Server, Blazor WebAssembly), CSS/HTML and gRPC
- Strong experience with distributed systems and cloud/container technologies (Kubernetes, ideally in Azure)
- Expert-level knowledge of algorithms, design patterns, OOP, threading, multiprocessing, etc.
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken)
- Team player attitude with strong communication skills
- Experience working with Copilot or AI agents is an asset
- Bachelor or Master degree within IT domain is an asset
- Experience in Energy domain is an asset
