Eurofins IT Solutions India Pvt Ltd (EITSI) is a fully owned subsidiary of Eurofins and functions as a Global Software Delivery Center exclusively catering to Eurofins Global IT business needs. The code shipped out of EITSI impacts the global network of Eurofins labs and services.

Job Description
- Role: Senior Infrastructure Engineer
- Department: Information Technology

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibility:
The Infrastructure Engineer is primarily responsible for engineering, configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of the Company’s infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, storage, backups, and disaster recovery planning. This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead complex projects. A strong emphasis is placed on Linux systems administration, infrastructure automation using Ansible, and scripting for operational efficiency.
Essential Job Duties:
Level I - Minimum
- Assist in research, evaluation, and recommendation of hardware and software such as servers, storage, and backup software.
- Assist in supporting corporate servers, user desktops, etc.
- Assist in designing, configuring, or upgrading the virtual server environment.
- Assist with basic troubleshooting of backup and archiving.
- Assist in identifying, diagnosing, and resolving connection, reliability, or performance issues.
- Keep the workroom neat, organized, and secure.
- Work under close to moderate supervision with limited latitude for independent judgment.
- Consult with senior peers on non-complex projects to learn through experience.
- Apply basic application management and administration skills with a moderate level of proficiency.
- Represent the department and the organization favorably and in accordance with established Company standards and associate attributes.
- Work within defined ITIL processes such as change and incident management.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Level II – Fully meets the responsibilities of Level I plus the following:
- Manage Windows and Linux patching, security updates, and software rollouts for all sites.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend hardware and software such as servers, storage, as well as backup software.
- Support of corporate servers in on-premise, hybrid, and cloud environments.
- Design, configure, or upgrade server and storage environments.
- Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for configuration management and automation.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve connection, reliability, or performance issues.
- Write and maintain scripts (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) to automate routine tasks.
- Work within and assist with the management of defined IT processes and procedures, including Systems Development Life Cycle methodology.
- Work with little to no supervision with latitude for independent judgment.
- Consult with senior peers on medium to complex projects.
- Assist in overseeing the primary activities of individual contributors (see above) to ensure completion of tasks and attainment of departmental goals.
Senior – Fully meets the responsibilities of Level II plus the following:
- Work with little to no supervision with extreme latitude for independent judgment.
- Proficient in all levels and phases of Infrastructure support.
- Lead infrastructure automation initiatives using Ansible and scripting.
- Partner with key vendors to maintain an understanding of new technology and leading practices.
- Serve as an escalation point for issues beyond project team authority; resolve conflicts involving scheduling, resources, or technical issues.
- May be responsible for helping develop the department’s budget for personnel, capital, and/or operation expenses.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Level I - Minimum
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience with server support.
- Experience with Linux systems administration (e.g., RHEL, Ubuntu).
- Basic scripting experience (e.g., Bash, Python).
- Familiarity with Ansible or similar automation tools.
- Active Directory, Domain Management, and Group Policy Experience.
- Windows Deployment Services Experience.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Knowledge of reference lab operations and processes a plus.
- Knowledge and management of System Development Lifecycle Methodologies a plus.
- Experience in maintaining technical documentation to ensure efficient planning and execution.
- Goal-oriented, with excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at all levels in an organization.

- High level of proficiency with PC-based software programs including MS Office suite and project management tools, MS Project preferred.
Level II – Fully meets the qualifications of Level I plus the following:
- Minimum of 3–7 years server support, including Linux and Windows environments.
- Minimum of 3–7 years of experience managing VMware and Hyper-V virtual server environments.
- Minimum of 3–7 years in managing, designing, configuring, and upgrading backup solutions.
- Minimum of 3–7 years managing, designing, configuring, and upgrading storage solutions.
- Experience managing automated enterprise patching and software deployments.
- Strong scripting experience in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Proficiency with Ansible or similar automation platforms (e.g., Chef, Puppet).
- Experience with deployment tools such as Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, or Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline and technologies.
- Experience using and applying System Development Lifecycle Methodologies.
- Previous experience in a reference lab or similar regulated/controlled environment.
Senior – Fully meets the qualifications of Level II plus the following:
- 7+ years server support
- 7+ years of experience designing, configuring, and upgrading VMware virtual server environments.
- 7+ years of experience in managing, designing, configuring, and upgrading backup solutions
- 7+ years of experience in managing, designing, configuring, and upgrading storage solutions
- Demonstrated positive experience with System Development Lifecycle Methodologies
- Technical certification such as Microsoft or Linux professional-level certification

Physical Requirements:
- Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets, and other items stored at various levels, including overhead
