About The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager, Events & Ride and Drives to lead the planning, execution, and strategic development of CALSTART’s events, including our industry-leading ride and drives. This role is critical in showcasing cutting-edge clean transportation technologies, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring the success of key industry gatherings such as the CALSTART Member Symposium, Policy Summit, and other major conferences.
What You’ll Do:
- Event Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute a comprehensive event strategy, aligning with CALSTART’s mission and goals.
- Oversee planning and logistics for all CALSTART events, including conferences, workshops, webinars, and ride and drives.
- Manage budgets, timelines, vendor relationships, and event production to ensure seamless execution.
- Coordinate with internal teams, partners, and sponsors to maximize event impact.
- Ride & Drive Program Management: Lead the planning and execution of ride and drive events, showcasing zero-emission vehicles and advanced clean transportation technologies.
- Develop partnerships with OEMs, fleet operators, and policymakers to ensure high-quality vehicle participation.
- Oversee site selection, permitting, safety protocols, and vehicle logistics for each event.
- Ensure a compelling and educational experience for participants, including industry stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Stakeholder & Partner Engagement: Collaborate with government agencies, industry leaders, and CALSTART members to ensure event success.
- Work with the Communications and Marketing team to develop promotional campaigns and outreach strategies.
- Represent CALSTART at industry events, speaking engagements, and networking opportunities.
- Team & Budget Management: Supervise and mentor event staff and contractors, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
- Manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and financial efficiency.
- Track key performance metrics and provide post-event reports to assess impact and opportunities for improvement.
What You’ll Bring To The Table:
- 7+ years of experience in event management, program management, or a related field, preferably in clean transportation, sustainability, or a mission-driven organization.
- Proven track record of planning and executing high-impact events, conferences, and ride and drive experiences.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with experience engaging diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with clean transportation technologies, policies, and industry trends is a plus.
- Ability to travel as needed for event execution and stakeholder engagement.
$95,000 - $113,000 a year
CALSTART values transparency and strives to provide as much information regarding compensation as possible. The complete salary range for this role is $95,000 - $113,000. Pay is determined based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, education, internal equity and other factors relevant to the job.
