OVERVIEW
About the role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Technical Accounting to join our accounting team. This position will play a critical role in analyzing complex accounting topics, driving compliance with U.S. GAAP requirements, and providing strategic guidance to cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical aptitude, strategic thinking, and exceptional communication skills while navigating challenging accounting scenarios and supporting the Company’s growth objectives.
About the team This role reports to the Director of Technical Accounting and New Product Initiatives. The role will work in collaboration with the Revenue Operations, Corporate and Strategic Finance, Sales, and other cross-functional teams to ensure proper application of accounting standards and development of relevant accounting policies. This is a leadership position that significantly impacts the Company’s compliance, reporting, and operational effectiveness.
About the job
Provide expertise and analysis for complex technical accounting topics, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), and other areas like leases, equity, and acquisitions.
Conduct research on technical accounting and reporting matters, drafting thorough memos and presentations with well-supported conclusions.
Remain current on new accounting standards and regulatory developments, assessing their impact on the Company, and leading implementation efforts when applicable.
Help ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and all required financial disclosures.
Collaborate with the accounting team to establish and operationalize accounting guidance for complex and non-routine transactions and non-standard contracts.
Develop and maintain accurate accounting policies.
Support training efforts for internal teams to promote understanding and compliance with technical accounting principles.
About you
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Accounting with a CPA license required.
- 9+ years of experience in public accounting and/or corporate technical accounting functions.
- Strong expertise in U.S. GAAP and technical accounting matters, with proven experience conducting research and drafting position memos.
- Experience collaborating across departments and serving as a subject matter expert on technical accounting topics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
- Exceptional organizational skills and proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Requirements
- Hands-on experience with financial systems like Oracle, SEC reporting tools (e.g., Workiva), and advanced knowledge of Excel or Google Suite tools.
- Experience managing complex audits and reviews with external auditors.
