Nightfall AI is the first AI-native DLP solution. We leverage AI to achieve twice the accuracy with a fraction of the false positives that overwhelm security teams. Our AI-native platform spans sensitive data protection across SaaS, email, data exfiltration prevention on SaaS, endpoints, and data encryption. Nightfall’s Developer Platform provides an open, flexible environment for developers to integrate our data classification and protection capabilities anywhere, including establishing trust boundaries for AI model building and consumption.
We are looking for an exceptional engineering technical leader to join our growing team at Nightfall. As a senior, hands-on, technical engineer in the Engineering organization, you will drive execution, provide solid technical expertise, raise the engineering bar of the team, and contribute towards shaping the long-term architecture of the platform.
This is a hybrid role based out of our San Francisco office.
Responsibilities
- Drive great execution, work with the team to set clear goals, and deliver against them
- Hands-on, technical design and coding
- Help shape the architecture of the AI Detection platform to enable the use of cutting edge ML technologies while ensuring it is scalable and reliable
- Implement best of practices in a fast-paced engineering environment and champion a culture of engineering excellence and productivity
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on technical development experience
- Minimum 3+ years of experience mentoring and leading engineering teams
- Experience programming in Python, Go, Java, C++ or related language
- Expertise in building machine models for real-time production environments using a variety of Deep Learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TorchScript, Tensorflow, spaCy, etc.
- Experience with machine model inferencing for use in low latency and high throughput, microservice environments
- Experience with ML Ops frameworks such as Vertex AI, Sagemaker, etc. to automate data collection, training, deployment and monitoring
- A foundational understanding of horizontal and vertical scaling, concurrency primitives, and data structures using Python, Go or other frameworks
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field
Bonus Points
- Experience working in high growth venture-backed startups
- Experience training and deploying NLP based machine models or LLMs is a big plus.
- Blog, teach, mentor, or help others learn outside of your day to day responsibilities
- Familiarity with AWS and managed infrastructure
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, gRPC, Redis, KV-stores
