Job description

CASE is looking for a detail-oriented, experienced packaging designer with a refined aesthetic to lead junior and mid-level designers in developing print and packaging concepts for global and emerging brands, primarily in the beauty, lifestyle and wellness categories.

As a CASE Senior Packaging Designer, you will:

Work collaboratively with the entire CASE team to build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with our clients.

Gain a deep understanding of each client’s goals and objectives, and develop effective, elevated creative solutions to achieve them.

Collaborate on the development of packaging strategy development and architecture, competitive and best-practice research, and creative workshop facilitation.

Lead the development of unique and differentiated packaging concepts, from forms to graphics, shown on 2D sketches, photo-realistic renderings and comps.

Present work to clients at key milestones, providing context and strategic rationale for design decisions, and soliciting feedback.

Oversee the extension of approved or existing packaging designs across multiple SKUs, ensuring consistency and pixel-perfect execution.

Oversee the preparation and packaging of print mechanicals, files and style guides for client hand-off.

Interface with external packaging vendors and production partners as neededβ€”to ensure design intent is realized.

Coach and mentor a team of 2 - 3 multidisciplinary designers, providing guidance, feedback and support to maximize performance and foster growth and development.

Collaborate on other design projects as needed.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

3 - 5+ years experience in packaging and print production design from concept to execution, digital and campaign experience plus.

A highly-refined aesthetic, with strong layout, typography and art direction skills, demonstrated by a robust portfolio of exceptional packaging work for beauty, wellness and lifestyle brands.

Demonstrated leadership abilities, including mentoring and coaching direct reports and project teams.

A passion for beauty, fashion, sustainability and innovation with a desire to always know what’s new and next.

Strategic storyteller, ability to understand client objectives, and develop and present sophisticated design approaches to achieve desired outcomes.

Strong understanding of packaging design best practices, including forms, materials, printing techniques and labeling requirements.

Highly skilled in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Keynote.

Excellent interpersonal skills, able to effectively communicate and collaborate with clients and internal teams.

Highly-organized and detail-oriented, able to successfully manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment β€” with a desire to work hard and have fun.
