Job description

Hi, we’re Underdog!

We’re the fastest-growing sports gaming company ever.

We build innovative games and products for American sports fans.

Founded in 2020, our team built four of today’s most widely played fantasy games and recently launched our Underdog Sportsbook. We are the only sportsbook to ever launch on our own home grown technology, which allows us to build different and innovative experiences. We believe there’s so much more to be built for sports fans, and we’ll continue to win by building the best products and experiences for our customers.

The opportunity in front of us to become the biggest company in our space is massive; after all, we’re currently sitting in the fastest-growing consumer industry in the U.S. In just over two years, we reached a nearly $500 million valuation through some of the best investors in the game, including Mark Cuban, Kevin Durant, BlackRock, and SV Angel. We are many times larger now and our growth is not slowing down.

At Underdog, we believe that sports are for everyone and are building a tomorrow for every fan. Want to help create that future? Join us.

About the role and why it’s unique:

  • Own a high-impact, high-visibility role that shapes how we engage customers and optimize our marketing and promotional investments, directly influencing business growth and user experience.
  • Work closely with marketing, promo operations, and engineering teams to build and optimize our MarTech stack, ensuring we have the best tools to drive growth, engagement, and retention.
  • Partner with your manager and peers to set product strategy, identifying and introducing new marketing technology solutions while optimizing our existing platforms to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Write clear user stories and product requirement documentation to support the development of in-house marketing tech solutions and integrations with third-party platforms.
  • Keep product documentation up to date and maintain development speed by responding to developer questions in a timely manner.
  • Lead stand-ups, grooming, planning, and retro sessions with your development team.
  • Set success metrics for new features/products and track key marketing performance indicators post-launch to guide iterative improvements.
  • Play an active role in cross-team collaboration, creating new processes when necessary to keep marketing, data science, and engineering aligned.
  • Ensure marketing, design, and engineering are engaged stakeholders in all product initiatives, proactively soliciting their input for roadmap decisions and planning.
  • Stay up to date with the latest marketing technology trends, tools, and best practices, ensuring our approach remains cutting-edge in a fast-moving industry.

Who you are:

  • 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in MarTech, growth, CRM, or a related domain.
  • Demonstrated experience driving prioritization, trade-offs, and timelines in fast-moving, cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of marketing technologies, customer engagement platforms, or advertising systems, or a strong desire to work on MarTech products.
  • Experience leveraging both quantitative and qualitative information to proactively identify ways for your product to improve marketing efficiency, customer engagement, and business impact.
  • An experimentation mindset centered around forming clear hypotheses and creating ways to quickly validate or invalidate new ideas through A/B testing, segmentation, and automation.
  • An expert at transforming conflicting or ambiguous inputs from marketers, engineers, and stakeholders into clear and actionable plans.
  • Ability to create a culture of inclusion and empathy within your team, creating a safe space for open and honest communication.

Even better if you have…

  • Experience in MarTech, growth, CRM, or a related domain.
  • Experience with MarTech tools such as Optimove, Braze, Branch, Lifecycle Segmentation tools, CRM and messaging platforms
  • Experience in the Sports Gaming industry, Daily Fantasy or Online Sports Betting
  • Experience working within a regulated industry

Our target starting base salary range for this position is between $160,000 and $190,000, plus target equity. The starting base salary will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s skills and experience, among other things.

What we can offer you:

  • Unlimited PTO (we’re extremely flexible with the exception of the first few weeks before & into the NFL season)
  • 16 weeks of fully paid parental leave
  • A $500 home office allowance
  • A connected virtual first culture with a highly engaged distributed workforce
  • 5% 401k match, FSA, company paid health, dental, vision plan options for employees and dependents
